08.07.2026, Vernier/Ostermundigen - TCS bike repAIR is a dense network of repair stations for bicycles and small vehicles. Last week, the 100th station was inaugurated in Bern. Over the past three years, TCS bike repAIR has developed significantly and is now an essential part of the journey towards a bike-friendly Switzerland.

Those travelling by bicycle, scooter, skateboard, or inline skates who encounter a minor defect need not despair. The best course of action is to head to a TCS bike repAIR repair station. The stations are equipped with bicycle hangers, air pumps, as well as tools like screwdrivers, allen keys, and tyre levers, offering everything needed to quickly fix minor issues and safely continue the journey.

Last week, the 100th TCS bike repAIR station was operationalised. The station is located at the Bern Technology Park in Bern-Bümpliz. This site choice is typical for TCS bike repAIR. Most stations are centrally located near school buildings, swimming pools, pump tracks, on cycling paths, or around larger companies — all destinations that are often reached by bicycle. Naturally, all TCS campsites are equipped with a repair station, and all 100 repair stations are available free at any time.

From Aargau to all of Switzerland

The TCS section Aargau installed the first repair station in 2023. TCS bike repAIR quickly piqued the interest of other sections and many communities. Consequently, the central club took over nationwide organisation in collaboration with the Bern section. The Bern section coordinates with sections that in turn enter partnership agreements with cities and communities. For Marc Bros de Puechredon, managing director of the Bern section, TCS bike repAIR is a heartfelt project: "With the 100th TCS bike repAIR station, we achieve a significant milestone. It is the result of strong collaboration among the different TCS sections with communities, cities, clubs, schools, and SMEs. I am extremely pleased that the 100th station is in Bern — it’s the first of five more to come on Bernese city grounds."

A contribution to road safety

Nowadays, repair stations can be found in eleven cantons and the 100th is far from the last. The significant interest in TCS bike repAIR shows that cyclists and other users are keen to use the station's tools. The TCS ensures with the repair stations that one can quickly continue on even with a flat tire or minor defect. The bike repair stations not only contribute to enhanced riding comfort for cyclists but also increase road safety. Keeping bicycles in technically perfect condition reduces the risk of accidents.

The repair stations are part of a broad bicycle offering by the TCS: This includes tips and tests for increased safety on and with the bike, beginner and advanced courses, e-bike safety courses, as well as TCS bike insurance. Affordable bicycles can be found at TCS velocorner.ch, and TCS members receive assistance from the TCS patrol in case of a bike breakdown.
