49th Delegates' Assembly of Suisseporcs
Under the leadership of President Andreas Bernhard, the ordinary delegates' assembly was held in St. Urban LU. 106 delegates and around 90 guests attended the meeting. In the historic hall of the monastery, ordinary matters such as the minutes of the last meeting, the president’s annual report, the 2025 financial statement, and the 2026 budget were approved.
Delegates to vote on the quantity control concept on 27th May 2026
A proposal from the board of the Eastern Switzerland section was rejected by a majority of the delegates after an intensive discussion. Therefore, the planned extraordinary delegates' assembly to vote on the quantity control concept for a sustainably healthy pig market will take place on 27th May 2026 in Olten. The mentioned concept and the associated regulations will be presented in detail and the delegates will vote after a discussion on this quantity control in the hands of producers. A 2/3 majority will be required for the resolution.
Elections Central Board
Newly elected to the Central Board was Ivo Wolfisberg from Hohenrain LU. The Central Board was confirmed. The sectional presidents are ex officio members of the Central Board. Thus, Thomas Kempf, Benken represents Eastern Switzerland, Roman Winiger, Neudorf represents Central Switzerland, and Michael Fankhauser, Kaltacker represents the Central-Midland section. The two departing members, Franz Guillebeau and Markus Käppeli, were thanked by the president for their valuable work with applause and a gift.
