17.06.2026, For its 150th anniversary, the insurance company Pax presents Switzerland with a special gift: ‘Pax Care’ relieves relatives in difficult times with CHF 2,000 immediate assistance and personal support. At the same time, this free offer provides a simple introduction to better understanding one's own caregiving situation.

Since 1876, Pax has been the 'home' of insurance in Switzerland. 'Home' is more than just a place. What began as a promise among cooperative members still holds true today: to be there for each other. In its anniversary year, Pax is continuing this idea with a unique offer nationwide. Pax Care is free immediate assistance that relieves relatives quickly and easily in a difficult life moment. At the same time, the offer invites people in Switzerland to engage with their insurance early and straightforwardly. Thus, the first independent free life insurance in Switzerland transforms from an abstract financial topic into concrete care for those dearest to us.

What Pax Care provides

'Getting started is often the toughest part of insurance,’ knows Yvonne Häring, Head of Products & Actuarial at Pax. ‘We are making exactly that part free and easy. Taking care of relatives becomes simultaneously a self-determined first look at one's own future.’ Those considering their closest circle with Pax Care first gain clarity about their own situation. Activation occurs online in a few steps. Pax Care then supports the people close to you in critical times. In case of death, Pax pays immediate assistance of CHF 2,000 for initial expenses. Additionally, professionals assist the relatives with up to two hours of personal advisory on organizational and administrative questions. If needed, Pax Care supplements this assistance with a structured checklist and contacts to service providers in the respective region. Thus, relatives receive guidance and tangible help in an emotionally demanding situation.

Caregiving also means providing guidance

‘Insurance means more than financial benefits. It’s about providing guidance and support to people in crucial moments,’ says Yvonne Häring. ‘On our 150th anniversary, we want to say thank you: to both our cooperative members and all of Switzerland. You create the framework for the security and stability we’ve been offering to our insured for 150 years. Pax Care is a gift that people in Switzerland can easily pass on.’

As a cooperative, Pax has always aimed to make insurance simple and understandable. Pax Care continues this idea and is open to all residents in Switzerland between the ages of 18 and 64 – regardless of whether they are currently Pax customers. Individuals in later life, after the so-called reference age of 65, find valuable advisory content in Pax’s also free 'Pension World’. This includes topics such as working beyond retirement, financial planning, home ownership in old age, securing relatives, and one’s own estate arrangements.
