Migros Ostschweiz is set to move in as a tenant in the planned development by Tecti AG on the former site of Rutishauser Weinkellerei on Seestrasse in Scherzingen. The supermarket on the ground floor of the building will offer a fresh and diverse range of products, including many regional goods, over an area of approximately 660 m2. There will be numerous bicycle parking spaces and 50 parking spaces available for customers, with half located directly in front of the supermarket entrance and the other half in the underground car park. The bus stop "Scheidweg" is situated right in front of the planned development, making the supermarket easily accessible by public transport. A Denner branch will also be established within the development. Over approximately 400 m2, the discount retailer will complement the offer of the Migros supermarket with an affordable range for daily needs, a well-curated selection of delicacies, and over 200 weekly changing promotions.
More Choices for the Population of Scherzingen and Surrounding Areas
A Migros teo has been operating on the site since October 2024. "The Migros teo is very popular with our customers," says Jörg Ehrensperger, Head of a Sales Group at Migros Ostschweiz. "We are therefore pleased that from 2030, we will be able to offer our customers even more choices with the larger sales area of our future supermarket," he adds. As long as construction activities permit, Migros teo will remain open.
Next Steps
Tecti AG plans to initiate the necessary procedures for its proposed construction project, which will accommodate approximately 100 apartments in addition to the sales areas of Denner and Migros, as well as other commercial spaces, throughout the year 2027. Should these proceed as expected, construction can begin in 2028, with Migros Scherzingen opening in 2030. Migros Ostschweiz will provide information on the specific opening date after the completion of the approval processes and implementation planning.
