Abraxas Seeks New Head of Department for Software Development and AI Offerings

As of 31 July 2026, Peter Gassmann, currently Head of the Solution Engineering (SOE) Department and a member of the Executive Board at Abraxas, will leave the company. He will take on a new challenge in the financial sector. Since April 2020, Gassmann has been leading the software development at Abraxas and has been an executive board member since 2022.

"I regret Peter Gassmann’s decision very much," commented CEO Reto Gutmann on the announced departure of his management board colleague. "The SOE department under Peter Gassmann's leadership has developed significantly and is today well positioned for Abraxas’ current and future strategic key tasks." The number of employees in the SOE department has doubled under Peter Gassmann's leadership to around 110 employees. In addition to topics like software security and cross-sectional services, this department focuses on the development of AI applications and related bespoke offerings for the public sector.

Until his industry change, Peter Gassmann together with his leadership team will ensure continuity and prepare a smooth transition of the leadership of this increasingly strategic department at Abraxas into new hands. "We are approaching the replacement of this critical position for us with the due diligence and thoroughness required," emphasized CEO Gutmann. The search for a suitable successor will start in the coming days.
