Anyone who drives an electric car is familiar with the pitfalls of public charging stations: a multitude
of different providers, limited payment options, and little price transparency. These obstacles slow down
the expansion of electromobility and complicate the everyday lives of electric car drivers. TCS is now
creating transparency and expanding the petrol price radar with a new tool that clearly declares the
different prices at public charging stations and offers guidance to electric motorists. This guidance is a
clear added value as many tariff models exist today that make comparison difficult.
Analogous
to the successful and highly demanded petrol price radar, the charging price radar is also integrated into
the TCS app. In the TCS app, plug type, charging speed, power type or provider can be configured. The
appropriate charging stations with the current prices then appear on the map. Through the personalised
filters, drivers can compare various providers and easily find those who do not require a subscription or
additional fees for the charging process.
Prices of 19,000 charging points
Currently,
nearly 9,000 charging stations with 19,000 charging points are listed in the TCS app across
Switzerland. The current prices of a charging station are visible by clicking on the detailed view. With
the next update planned for the end of October, users will also be able to report price discrepancies or
missing information directly in the app. This will continuously improve the data quality of the charging
price radar.
New features in the TCS app
In addition to the charging price radar, the
TCS app has also recently introduced further new applications. Those who regularly travel the same
route can be informed of disruptions or traffic jams causing delays. Furthermore, the Park & Pay offer
has been expanded. The parking spaces of the provider P2Park are now also integrated. These are
private parking spaces that can be booked by the hour directly in the app.

Since its founding in 1896 in Geneva, the Touring Club Suisse (TCS) has been serving the Swiss
population. It is committed to safety, sustainability, and autonomy in personal mobility, both politically
and socially.
With over 2,000 employees and 23 regional sections, the largest mobility club in
Switzerland offers its more than 1.6 million members a wide range of services related to mobility,
health, and leisure activities.
Assistance is provided every 70 seconds. Annually, 200 patrol
officers are on Swiss roads for about 361,000 missions, allowing immediate onward travel in more
than 80% of cases. The ETI headquarters organises approximately 63,000 assistance services
annually, including 3,500 medical examinations and over 1,300 repatriations. TCS Ambulance is the
largest private player in rescue service and patient transport in Switzerland, with 400 employees, 22
logistics bases, and around 45,000 deployments per year. The legal protection offices handle 52,000
cases and provide around 10,000 legal consultations.
Since 1908, TCS has been committed
to improving mobility safety – made possible through membership. It develops teaching materials,
awareness and prevention campaigns, tests mobility infrastructures, and advises authorities. Each
year, TCS distributes around 115,000 reflective belts and 90,000 reflective vests to children to ensure
their mobility is safe. The driving centres report 42,000 participants for training and further education
in all vehicle categories annually.
With 32 sites and about 900,000 overnight stays, TCS is
also the largest camping provider in Switzerland. The TCS Mobility Academy researches and shapes
transformations in transport, such as the vertical mobility of drones or shared mobility, for example,
with the 400 electric cargo bikes 'carvelo' and 43,000 users. TCS is a co-signatory of the Roadmap
Electromobility 2025.
