07.10.2025, Jointly, Terre des hommes, SOS Children's Villages Switzerland, Médecins du Monde Switzerland, Handicap International Switzerland, Doctors Without Borders Switzerland, and Save the Children will demonstrate on 8th October at 11 am in front of the Federal Palace. A letter will be handed over to the Federal Council with five demands. Spokespersons from all organizations will be available for media inquiries.

Together with representatives from four other Swiss aid organizations, staff from SOS Children's Villages will demonstrate on October 8, 2025, in front of the Federal Palace.

SOS Children's Villages highlights the commitments of Switzerland as a signatory of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (ratified by Switzerland in 1997).

Children have the right to life and personal development. And yet, more than 20,000 children in Gaza have been killed. Children who bear no responsibility for the attacks of 7th October 2023. Children who pose no threat.

Children have the right to protection and care. And yet, families in Gaza have been torn apart and destroyed for two years. Thousands of children have lost their parents and siblings.

Children have the right to education. And yet, for two years children in Gaza have been unable to attend school.

Children have the right to healthcare. And yet countless children suffer and die from a man-made famine in Gaza.

The silence of Switzerland is an acquiescence in crimes against thousands of children.

Foundation SOS Children's Villages Switzerland

SOS Children's Villages gives children in need a loving home in over 135 countries and protects vulnerable children from losing their families. Poverty, violence, and injustice often hit children the hardest.

For over 60 years, we have been working with various partners to support families in caring for their children or to offer alternative care in a loving family environment, such as in an SOS Children's Village family.

Our actions are always guided by the best interests of the child, and for each child in our care, there is an individual development plan. We focus on the care, health, and education of children and young people.

We provide long-term practical support, enabling children and young people to build enduring relationships and meet future life's challenges. At the same time, this strengthens communities and society as a whole.

We advocate for children with governments and international organizations to highlight and prevent violations of their rights and improve their living conditions worldwide. For this, we need the support of partners and donors to provide as many children as possible with a loving home and a second chance for a happy childhood.
