28.01.2026, In a world that is becoming increasingly divided, Allianz, the official insurer of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, is helping to bring people together for peaceful competition at one of the largest international sporting events. Athletes from all over the world benefit from Allianz's support to excel in competition and prepare for their future after the Games. The introduction of the Safety Sled is Allianz's first step to enhance safety in bobsleighing.

Two hundred Allianz employees, as well as clients, will participate in the Paralympic Torch Relay, carrying the flame until the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on 6 March 2026, symbolizing unity. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Allianz's partnership with the Paralympic Movement, the company underscores its ongoing support for inclusion through sport.

'We are proud that Allianz is once again collaborating with the Olympic and Paralympic movements to make the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games a reality. Italy is one of our core markets worldwide, and I want to acknowledge our Allianz colleagues who have supported the host country in welcoming the world in a spirit of unity and warmth,' said Oliver Bäte, CEO of Allianz SE.

Whether we are supporting athletes in their preparation for competition and life or insuring organizers as well as spectators, Allianz is backing the Games to amplify the Olympic spirit beyond the sports venues, inspiring people everywhere.

Safety for the Sport

Allianz's commitment to Milano Cortina 2026 began years before the event. The insurer worked closely with the Italian national organizing committee to develop customized insurance solutions that address the unique challenges of hosting the Winter Games at various venues spread across Milan, the Dolomites, and the Italian Alps. This includes insurance solutions for the entire sports ecosystem—for asset protection, liability scenarios, cyber threats, and travel disruptions; these are being developed in close coordination with the International Olympic Committee and with the involvement of the international insurance market. Allianz Partners offers fans a ticket insurance and provides members of the Olympic family on-site medical assistance coverage.

As an insurer and risk manager, Allianz also plays a central role in enhancing safety—both in the sports economy and in sports arenas, on slopes, and tracks. Since January 2025, it has been working with the German Bobsleigh and Luge Federation to raise safety standards in bobsleighing. At the heart of the initiative is the Safety Sled, a prototype sled used at the 2025 World Championships. On race days, including those at Milano Cortina 2026, the Safety Sled analyzes ice and track conditions, providing pilots with valuable insights to optimally prepare for their first run.

Excellence in Sport and Life

Supporting athletes continues to be at the heart of Allianz's partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Movements. Team Allianz now proudly includes 120 (para-)athletes from 33 countries. Of these, 38 compete in winter sports disciplines and 28 are expected to participate in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. At the core of the promotion are the Buddy Program and MoveNow, which offer mentoring, financial education, and career coaching to help athletes navigate the challenges of sport and life.

Unity and Inclusion: 20 Years of Allianz Paralympics Partnership

In 2026, Allianz will celebrate 20 years of partnership with the Paralympic Movement, emphasized by the collaboration in the Paralympic Torch Relay for Milano Cortina 2026. Allianz first engaged with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS) in 2006. This initial engagement evolved into a strategic relationship where Allianz progressed from being an early supporter to the first international partner of the IPC in 2010 and eventually became a worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partner in 2021.

For over two decades, Allianz has been instrumental in increasing the visibility and professionalism of Paralympic sports, expanding inclusion, and bringing athletes, families, fans, and communities together in shared enthusiasm for human potential. The company will continue to work on expanding access to parasports in underrepresented regions and integrating new generations, believing that sport is for everyone.

Global 'Step Into Life' Campaign

Allianz’s Milano Cortina 2026 activation, 'Step Into Life' - known in German-speaking markets as 'Da für dein Leben' -, focuses on themes of physical readiness and mental security as the foundation of extraordinary performance. The global campaign captivates through TV spots and innovative digital health tools, connecting millions of people in more than 40 markets, and has already driven over 500,000 visitors to the company's global landing page. In doing so, Allianz achieves its goal of uniting people through sports and daily moments.

'Our campaign highlights a universal moment—the pause right before embarking on something significant. Whether it's an athlete on the starting line or someone facing a decisive challenge, it is the moment when focus sharpens, and preparation and resilience determine performance. Allianz supports this crucial moment, standing by athletes and others, helping them enter the future with confidence,' said Eike Bürgel, Head of Olympic and Paralympic Partnership at Allianz.

A Strong Presence Across Italy

In the host country, Italy, Allianz will lead the Paralympic Torch Relay through 13 cities and has launched an ongoing national TV campaign celebrating Italian athletes (sports legends as well as current stars), showcasing how the Games can unite people across regions and generations.

Further activities include community events, social media engagement, and partnerships with the National Olympic Committee of Italy, the National Paralympic Committee of Italy, and national sports federations. Beyond the Games, Allianz Italy is committed to long-term engagement through the Fondazione Allianz UMANA MENTE, which supports young people with disabilities and promotes access to sport.
