The tourist destination Andermatt has developed dynamically over the past years. With Andermatt Central 2, another component of this development is now being realized. As with the first phase, the project is being carried out by Andermatt Central AG, in which BVZ Holding AG (BVZ), the parent company of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGBahn), holds a 50 percent stake, while Andermatt Swiss Alps AG (ASA) and the Schmid Group each hold 25 percent.
"With Andermatt Central 2, we are creating additional living space for the local population, employees, and people who want to live and work in Andermatt. At the same time, we are investing sustainably in a location that has developed extraordinarily positively in recent years. The project combines economic attractiveness, high living quality, and responsible use of available space," says Alice Kalbermatter, Chairwoman of the Board of Andermatt Central AG and CFO of BVZ Holding AG and Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.
Central, more central, 'Andermatt Central'
Thanks to its central location between the historic village centre of Andermatt and the Andermatt Reuss district, the immediate proximity to the train station, the Nätschen valley station, as well as the tourist and commercial offers, the development benefits from excellent accessibility and high site attractiveness. A particular focus is placed on sustainable heat and energy supply, with regional district heating based on woodchips being used. Additionally, the building is powered entirely by renewable electricity. The building envelope meets the Minergie standard, significantly contributing to high energy efficiency. The completion and commissioning of Andermatt Central 2 are scheduled for the end of 2028.
