30.10.2025, On October 20th, the new MICHELIN stars of Switzerland were awarded at the EHL Lausanne. Four Zermatt restaurants once again received the coveted recognition, including Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni, which has held the star since 2019.
Executive Chef Stefan Lünse has been responsible for the culinary direction of this traditional establishment since May 2025. His vision of a modern, yet grounded and innovative cuisine has already developed into a successful concept. General Manager Markus Marti is proud of his team: 'Regaining the star is a strong sign of continuity and team spirit.'
Following a successful summer season this year, guests of the Zermatterhof can also look forward to exciting new taste experiences in the upcoming winter season—marked by creativity, precision, and passion.
With over two decades of experience in top gastronomy, Stefan Lünse brings an impressive track record: As a long-standing head chef at the Relais & Châteaux Lenkerhof Gourmet SPA Resort in Lenk, he led the restaurant 'Spettacolo' to 16 GaultMillau points and 'Oh de Vie' to 14 points. Previously, he gained experience at renowned establishments such as the Kempinski St. Moritz and the Hotel Giardino Ascona. He is supported by Sous-Chef Jimmy Beck, with whom he has worked for several years.
