From September 25th to October 5th, the Zurich Film Festival enters its 21st season. Since its inception, the ZFF has annually attracted international stars to the Limmat City, where they present their works and compete for the coveted Golden Eye, the prestigious main prize of the festival. This year, SRG is again the media partner of ZFF and is starting with several co-productions. Highlights include the new SRF sitcom "Unsere kleine Botschaft" and the second season of the RTR hit series "L'ultim Rumantsch", both of which will premiere at the ZFF. Overall, cinema fans can look forward to eight SRG co-productions:
- "Girls & Gods" (RSI, SRG), by Arash T. Riahi and Verena Soltiz - "La Beauté de l'Âne" (RTS), by Dea Gjinovci - "Stiller" (SRF), by Stefan Haupt - "Unsere kleine Botschaft" (SRF), by Johannes Bachmann and Johannes Schröder - "Von dem, was bleibt" (SRF), by Lisa Blatter - "Der Prank" (SRF), by Benjamin Heisenberg - "Melodie" (SRF, RSI, SRG), by Anka Schmid - "L'ultim Rumantsch", 2nd season (RTR, SRG), by Adrian Perez
SRG also plays a part in the 'Zurich Summit' and 'Awards Special Screenings'.
Aside from its own co-productions, SRG is also a cooperation partner of the 'Zurich Summit', the most important film industry event of the ZFF. The conference takes place on the first festival weekend at the Hotel The Dolder Grand and features a high-profile lineup of international and national film producers, distribution managers, filmmakers from cinema, television, entertainment, as well as leading technology entrepreneurs and investors to discuss the latest trends and developments in the industry.
Moreover, SRG is the official partner of the 'Awards Special Screenings', organized together with SWISS FILMS. In a closed screening, the Swiss Oscar entry will be presented - this year, it is "HELDIN" by Petra Volpe, competing in the category 'Best International Feature Film'. The goal is to increase the chances of an Oscar nomination in front of voting members of the 'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' (AMPAS).
In collaboration with SRF, SRG is also organizing the 'SRF Writer's Day': On Monday, September 29, 2025, the focus at Folium in Zurich will be on the art of screenwriting. Authors, producers, and emerging talents will discuss opportunities and challenges - with exciting practical insights and an exchange on equal footing.
