After 18 years at the helm of Angestellte Schweiz, Stefan Studer will retire this autumn. His succession is settled: Pierre Derivaz will take over the management. The 37-year-old lawyer from Wallis brings extensive expertise and has been with Angestellte Schweiz since 2017.
Continuity and New Beginning: Pierre Derivaz
Pierre Derivaz has extensive experience in social partnership. He studied international relations and law in Geneva, Vienna, and Basel and obtained his lawyer's license in the Canton of Bern. Pierre Derivaz knows the association far beyond legal advice: He regularly communicates with the economy and has repeatedly expressed his position on topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), sustainability, or mental health, bringing the employees' perspective to the public.
Alexander Bélaz, President of Angestellte Schweiz, congratulates Pierre Derivaz: "We had an exceptionally high number of good applications. Pierre Derivaz distinguished himself through his competence and strategic understanding. He knows our association and brings the necessary foresight for future challenges - Artificial Intelligence, geopolitical tensions, and our role as a reliable social partner."
In a noticeably changing working world, employees are increasingly seeking orientation, support, and protection. At the same time, concerns about purchasing power and pension provision are growing. Pierre Derivaz sees a clear mandate for a modern employee association in this. Accordingly, he clearly formulates his ambition: "I am excited to begin my new role on 1 August. Especially in times of change, employees need an organisation that advances them in the working world of tomorrow. That has always been the strength of Angestellte Schweiz, and that is exactly where I want to focus on further development: being close to members, forward-thinking, and offering services that truly help."
Over 18 Years of Vision: The Association Thanks Stefan Studer
At the same time, the board thanks Stefan Studer for his long-standing service as Managing Director of Angestellte Schweiz. Over 18 years, he shaped the association with foresight, innovation, and much personal commitment from a traditional employee organisation into a modern, agile, and reliable competence centre. He early recognised which topics would shape the working world of tomorrow, ensuring that Artificial Intelligence, flexible work forms, and sustainability became fixed components of the association's strategy, services, processes, and culture.
"An association does not develop by itself - it needs people with vision, courage, and perseverance. Stefan Studer embodied these qualities impressively over many years. With great commitment and a fine sense of the challenges of the working world, he sustainably influenced and developed Angestellte Schweiz towards the future. For this, he deserves my sincere thanks. For his new chapter in life, I wish him all the best," says Alexander Bélaz.
