08.04.2026, In the latest child seat test, TCS issues product warnings for two child seat models and seven similar models. The issue lies in copied models that are predominantly offered on Asian online platforms. It is strongly advised against purchasing these products.

In autumn 2025, the Touring Club Switzerland had already issued product warnings for the Chipolino Olympus i-Size and Reecle 360 models, which are also sold under the names ZA10 i-Size or 946i i-Size.

In the latest test, serious safety issues were discovered with the similar models Buf Boof Tweety Plus, Ding Aiden 360, Kidiz 360, KidsZone i-Size 360, Lettas i-Size 360, Miophy i- Size 360, and Xomax 946i. It is therefore strongly advised against purchasing the mentioned products.

A wide range of car child seats with UN Reg. 129 approval is offered on trading platforms such as Alibaba, which can be personalised with own lettering, packaging, and covering materials or further customised. The Reecle 360 (ZA10 i-Size) seat originally tested is also offered with these options. Due to the available customisation options, the number of product variants and names offered on various online marketplaces is very large and rapidly changing.

**Child can be ejected from the seat** The infant carrier Kinderkraft Mink Pro 2 detaches from the associated Isofix base Base Mink FX2 during the test conducted, propelling the dummy forward. Therefore, in a severe accident, there is a high risk of injury to the child. Parents who have already purchased the seat are advised to use the infant carrier without the Base Mink FX2 and fasten it with the vehicle belt. Properly fastened, the infant carrier provides good protection in the tests conducted. When installing, pay attention to the correct routing of the belt (lap belt over the leg end, diagonal belt around the head end) and ensure the belt is tensioned tightly.

With the seven other seat models, each similar to the Reecle 360 (ZA10 i-Size) tested last autumn and also having the same approval number, the lower attachment of the child seats fails in the tests conducted. Although the head ends of the shell seats remain connected to the vehicle with the top tether belt, the shells are propelled through the vehicle with the dummy due to the lack of a lower load path. This results in a high risk of injury to the child upon subsequent impact inside the vehicle.

**Responses from providers** The providers were informed in advance about their products' results and asked for a response. Kinderkraft's manufacturer offers customers an exchange or return of the 'Kinderkraft Mink Pro 2 + Base Mink FX2'. Parents who purchased the infant carrier with Isofix base can contact the manufacturer through the provided email address.

The manufacturer YANGZHOU LETTAS BABY PRODUCT CO., LTD has communicated that various improvements have been included in ongoing production since January to improve seat stability. According to the manufacturer, the improved version will be delivered equally to all providers.

Since the seat models rated as inadequate here also meet legal requirements, they may be sold in Europe. A general right of return or exchange for products already purchased cannot necessarily be derived from the poor performance in the consumer protection test. Parents who bought the new child seat less than two years ago may have a warranty claim against the seller; however, this would need to be checked on a case-by-case basis.

The complete child seat test with the results of all models examined will be published at the end of May.

**Test Note** It should be noted that the frontal crash test in the consumer test program is stricter than the type approval tests according to the UN Regulation R129, which leads to higher - but realistic - stresses on the child restraint system. The severity of the frontal impact in R129 is based on vehicle characteristics from the 1980s. Since vehicles have evolved and become stiffer, a higher impact severity is used in the test to correspond to today's vehicle characteristics. The test is widely recognized and is taken into account by child seat manufacturers in the development of their products.
