Since starting at swissICT, Christian Hunziker has further developed the association and launched several new offerings. The revenue from the salary study was more than doubled, the number of participants at events increased to over 4,000 people, and the number of corporate memberships rose to over 900 organizations. At the same time, the Digital Excellence Checkup, and subsequently launched Innovation Checkup and Cloud Maturity Checkup, were introduced to help companies self-evaluate their digital maturity. Several offerings for ICT professionals, such as the SI Competency Check or the ICT Career Advisory, were also launched for this member group. In cooperation with the Swiss Workers' Aid Association, the canton of Zurich's tender for ICT job seekers' orientation was won in 2025.
The switch to early retirement aligns with the change in the swissICT presidency, but they are independent decisions, as Christian Hunziker explains: “I would have very much liked to lead the association into the next phase. Unfortunately, circumstances in my private life in recent weeks have prompted a swift move to early retirement.” President Thomas Flatt and the entire board of swissICT deeply regret his departure, thank Christian sincerely for his tremendous commitment, and wish him all the best for his new chapter in life.
Christian Hunziker's last public appearance will be at the #DIGITUPs event ahead of the swissICT General Assembly on May 5th in Zurich.
