12.06.2026, Boulogne-Billancourt – As of 1st July 2026, Christian Stein will become the new CEO of Renault Group Spain. He succeeds Josep María Recasens, who has decided to pursue new professional challenges outside the company. Christian Stein takes on this role in addition to his position as Chief Communication Officer of the Renault Group and reports to François Provost, CEO of the Renault Group.

• Role in addition to Chief Communication Officer of the Renault Group • Responsible for all activities of the Group in Spain • 5 new models in Spanish plants

In his new position, he is responsible for all activities of the group in Spain and simultaneously assumes the highest institutional representation of the Renault Group in the country.

The appointment takes place in the context of the Renault Group's global strategy plan ‘futuREady’ as well as following the recent signing of the new collective agreement in Spain. This ensures the future of the Spanish plants through the allocation of five new models, strengthens their long-term competitiveness, and also includes the introduction of the group's new electric platform.

Renault Group Spain, celebrating its 75th anniversary in the country this year, has a strong industrial, commercial, as well as research and development presence in Madrid, Valladolid, Palencia, and Seville. In Spain, this is complemented by a comprehensive sales and service network with 482 locations, marketing the Renault, Dacia, and Alpine brands, supported by Mobilize Financial Services.

François Provost, CEO of the Renault Group:

"With more than 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, Christian Stein has built an exceptionally broad career at the intersection of operational business, sales, and communication – in the areas of distribution, sales, marketing, brand management, communication, and public affairs.

This experience, combined with his profound knowledge of the Spanish market and culture, will be crucial in successfully shaping the new phase now beginning in this country. Spain is a strategically important market and a significant industrial site for the group. A major milestone has just been reached with the allocation of five new electric models to the Spanish plants as part of the 'futuREady' plan.

I also thank Josep María Recasens for his commitment to the group in recent years and wish him much success for his future path."

Christian Stein holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from EMLYON Business School and brings 35 years of experience in the automotive industry. He began his career in 1991 at Peugeot, gaining international experience in France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom in various roles in the areas of sales, finance, sales, and marketing. In 2011, he joined Seat as Global Marketing Director and subsequently assumed global responsibility for communication and public affairs. He joined the Renault Group in 2020 as Vice President Brand Communications, was appointed Vice President Revenue Management & Customer Experience at Ampere in 2023, and has been Chief Communication Officer of the Renault Group since 2024.
