The SBV delegates showed confidence on Wednesday, 17 December in the Kursaal in Bern: The new National Framework Agreement, with its six-year duration, new regulations on working and travel times, a salary package, and a shared inflation safeguard, meets the needs of businesses and employees in the main construction industry.
The National Framework Agreement for the main construction industry (NFA) governs the working conditions of approximately 80,000 construction workers. The current collective agreement expires at the end of the year and needed to be renegotiated. The negotiating delegations finally managed to reach an outcome on Friday, 12 December 2025 in the 10th round of negotiations. For the new NFA to take effect, the negotiation result still needs to be approved by the decision-making bodies. With the builders' delegates having said yes, only an interim goal has been achieved. On the unions' side, the professional conferences are taking place on the 20th and 24th of January 2026, whose approval is also required for the new NFA.
