Particularly during travel, many sensory impressions come together, which can be burdensome for those affected.
Starting January 2026, the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGBahn) will introduce the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Lanyard. This internationally recognised, voluntarily worn lanyard with a sunflower pattern discreetly signals that consideration or support may be helpful. MGBahn employees will be sensitised on how to interact with travellers with hidden disabilities, to provide needs-based and respectful support.
Proof is not required. The lanyard is not a ticket or an access permit, but an indication of potential needs and special consideration. It is available free of charge at the Zermatt, Oberwald, and Andermatt stations.
