With the new station in Conthey, Electra is specifically targeting a central location in the heart of Valais. Located in a busy retail and commercial zone directly on the main route through the Rhône Valley, four charging points with a capacity of up to 300 kW are available in the JoueClub car park. A typical electric vehicle can thus significantly increase its range again in about 15 to 20 minutes - just enough time for a quick errand. Customers can charge while shopping, making the location a natural everyday stop for the residents of Conthey, Sion, and the surrounding communities, rather than just a transit point.
Charging is straightforward without subscription or app barriers: users simply plug in and pay by card or via the Electra app, with transparent pricing and no hidden charges. This means Electra relies on a simple, reliable charging experience in Conthey too. This offer is complemented by the recently launched eMSP function of the Electra app - as an e-Mobility Service Provider (eMSP), Electra enables charging not only at its own network but also at stations from other providers, with a single charging card and unified billing. This gives users in Switzerland access to more than 15,000 charging points across numerous networks via the Electra app, without needing a separate account for each network.
With Conthey, Electra's Swiss network grows to 25 fast charging locations. The new hub strengthens charging coverage along the Valais corridor and further establishes Electra in a previously less well- covered region. In particular, reliable public charging infrastructure makes an important contribution to promoting electric mobility there.
"We are consistently expanding our charging infrastructure along key transport routes and bringing it to where people are already on the go," says Alessandro Inderbitzin, General Manager Switzerland & Austria at Electra. "Conthey is a strategically important location in Valais: suitable for everyday use, easily accessible, and a real added value for a region where reliable fast charging was previously less densely available."
