What is set to happen in the Ruhr region in 2027 is spectacular. Excellence guides its guests on the Rhine to the International Garden Exhibition 2027, where green future spaces emerge in a region reinventing itself. On Glienicke Bridge over the Havel, Rainer Schanz, a contemporary witness and former chancellor bodyguard for the BKA, narrates tales of espionage, agents, and incredible Cold War stories. In Frankfurt, guests learn at Hendrik Zimmer's studio how art can be created from disposable materials. Ex-Tatort commissioner Stefan Gubser takes his guests to original crime scenes in Vienna and hosts discussions with real investigators. On the Rhône, Elsa Lenthal brings a Provençal tradition aboard, showing how artistically braided lavender wands are made. Not far from Rouen, guests visit Alexandre Thomas, a landscape architect who welcomes them to his magically beautiful garden. Strolls with author Patricia Holland-Moritz lead through legendary Parisian districts, tracing the footsteps of women who made history.
