31.07.2026, For the fourth consecutive year: With the renewed accolade as Switzerland's best holiday hotel, Gstaad Palace continues its success story. The top position coincides with a strong start to the summer season and the successful launch of Gildo’s al Fresco, the newly opened outdoor restaurant with Italian flair.

Almost fairy-tale like, but quite tangible: Gstaad Palace continues its success story in top rankings in the highly regarded hotel ranking of the Swiss business magazine 'BILANZ'. The five-star superior hotel once again secures 1st place among the best Swiss holiday hotels. This places Gstaad Palace at the top of the list for the fourth consecutive time, thus reinforcing its position as one of the leading luxury hotels in the country.

Lived passion for hospitality and quality

Since its opening in 1913, Gstaad Palace has been one of Switzerland's most renowned luxury hotels and is regularly rated as one of the best. With the latest rating, the establishment lives up to its ambition of offering its guests unique experiences, top service quality, and authentic hospitality. 'The top placement confirms that we are on the right track. This award is made possible, on the one hand, only by our loyal guests. On the other hand, we have a strong, consistently dedicated team that passionately strives to make every stay with us in Saanenland an unforgettable experience. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart and am exceedingly proud of my crew,' states Andrea Scherz, owner and general manager.

Award at the right time

This honourable award comes at a particularly favourable time for the traditional establishment in Gstaad. The successful start to the summer season is a triumph across the board. 'A consistently high demand from the most important international markets is emerging. The summer season is increasingly developing into as strong a pull as winter, which previously accounted for a larger share of annual revenue,' reports Andrea Scherz.

Speaking of summer: The newly inaugurated, summer outlet Gildo’s al Fresco is becoming the new hotspot in Gstaad. Its gastronomic offering with genuine Italianità perfectly meets the needs of guests, thanks to its summery menu, casual ambiance, and relaxed dress code. Gildo’s al Fresco is open not only to hotel guests but also deliberately caters to locals and guests of the Gstaad Saanenland region.

Gstaad Palace

The premier five-star superior hotel, Gstaad Palace, which first opened its doors in December 1913, has been family-owned by the Scherz family for three generations, making it one of the last family-run establishments in Europe where personalities embody a first-class hospitality culture.

The 90 rooms and suites of the seasonal hotel, with an extraordinary panorama of the Bernese Oberland, skilfully blend contemporary glamour with alpine coziness. In five restaurants, the emblem of Gstaad serves Swiss, Italian, and international specialties, as well as gourmet cuisine awarded 16 Gault-Millau points. The hotel's own nightclub, GreenGo, is known for legendary parties and its illustrious clientele.

In the Palace Spa, spanning 1800 square meters, guests' senses are pampered. In summer, the 'PISCINE' with Olympic dimensions and four tennis courts are available. With the Walig Hut, an alp from 1783 situated 1700 meters above sea level, Gstaad Palace offers a unique retreat where guests can experience the true luxury of the Saanenland - tranquility, serenity, and authenticity, up close.
