From today's perspective, the management expects to increase earnings per share again in 2026 compared to 2025.

The positive outlook communicated during the announcement of the 2025 annual results has been confirmed. Accordingly, the first half of 2026 developed favorably. As of June 30, 2026, earnings per share increased to CHF 2.44 (previous year CHF 2.26). The consolidated result was CHF 25.9 million (previous year CHF 24.0 million), the operating result (EBIT) was CHF 31.1 million (previous year CHF 29.5 million). Revenue reached CHF 587.3 million compared to CHF 586.8 million in the previous period.

Growth through targeted business acquisitions

By June 30, 2026, the Burkhalter Group had grown through the acquisition of five more companies. On January 15, 2026, BZ-Dépannage Sàrl in Lonay (VD), specialized in plumbing facilities and maintenance and repair services, was acquired. On January 28, 2026, the acquisition of Enplan AG in Herisau (AR), specializing in the planning of heating and ventilation systems, followed, and a day later, that of Elektro Gasser AG in Lalden (VS). On February 26, 2026, the Burkhalter Group also acquired the HLKS company Caotec SA in Brusio (GR). Effective May 1, 2026, Progressio Holding GmbH in Tamins (GR) was added, including its subsidiary anplaq ag, which specializes in plant, equipment, and pipeline construction for energy and water infrastructure.

On September 2, 2026, AZ systems holding AG in Landquart (GR), with its subsidiary AZ systems AG which specializes in building automation, was also taken over. These targeted acquisitions strengthen the Burkhalter Group's regional presence, expand its technical expertise, and unlock additional market potentials. The acquisition strategy thus remains a key pillar of the group's sustainable growth.

Outlook confirmed

The Burkhalter Group has given a positive outlook for the 2026 financial year. Developments in the first half confirm the underlying assumptions regarding market demand and operational development. The management therefore maintains its assessment and continues to expect a moderate increase in earnings per share in the 2026 financial year compared to 2025.

As a full-service provider of cross-trade building technology, we offer services in the areas of heating and cooling, ventilation and air conditioning, sanitation, and electrical engineering in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein. We currently consist of 83 group companies at 169 locations and employ around 5,400 people, including approximately 1,000 apprentices.

Today's Burkhalter Group was founded in 1959 as a sole proprietorship by Ruth and Ernst Burkhalter in Zurich, initially employing four staff. In 1987, the company was sold to the Zellweger-Luwa Group, followed by management buy-outs in 1997 and 2000. Since June 2008, Burkhalter Holding AG has been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange AG.

Following the merger with poenina holding ag at the end of June 2022, we transitioned from an electrical engineering company to a building technology company. As such, our long-term goal is to contribute to the implementation of the federal government's 2050 energy strategy and to expand energy efficiency in the Swiss building park. Our ambition in this regard is reflected in the color green, which also serves as our guiding star in advancing sustainability within the Burkhalter Group.
