The OBI Beach Tour thrilled this past weekend at the Inseli by the KKL Lucerne with top-class beach volleyball and the best summer atmosphere. Dream weather, a unique setting at Lake Lucerne, and a well-attended Beach Village made for a perfectly successful beach volleyball festival. Not even a few rain clouds could dampen the excellent atmosphere.
Strong Comeback by Wandeler/Stolz The women's tournament offered numerous exciting encounters and high-class beach volleyball. Jasmine Wandeler, together with Livia Stolz, was particularly impressive. After competing in their first tournament in Basel following a long injury break, where they had to withdraw in the quarterfinals due to illness, the duo achieved a major breakthrough in Lucerne. With strong performances, they played their way into the finals. In the semi-finals, Wandeler and Stolz deservedly defeated the national team Menia Bentele and Annique Niederhauser.
In the final, they faced the German wildcard team Linda Bock and Lea Sophie Kunst, who impressed with consistently strong performances throughout the tournament. The Germans confirmed their strong form in the final and secured victory with a commanding performance in two sets (21:9, 21:10). With the clear 2:0 success, Bock and Kunst deservedly claimed the tournament victory.
Muriel Bossart and Linda Abbühl secured third place. The winners of the Basel tour stop won the small final after two hard-fought sets against the favored Menia Bentele and Annique Niederhauser. Despite being behind in the second set, Bossart and Abbühl made an impressive comeback, earning themselves another podium finish on the OBI Beach Tour.
Favourites Prevail in Men's Competition The men's tournament lived up to the strong participants' promise. Top seeds Adrian Heidrich and Yves Haussener justified their favorites’ role and claimed the tournament victory with strong performances.
In the final, Heidrich and Haussener faced the second-seeded duo Leo Dillier and Luc Emanuel Flückiger. A high-class final developed in front of numerous spectators. After a hard-fought first set, which Heidrich and Haussener won 23:21, they played brilliantly in the second, giving their opponents little chance with a 21:11. They deservedly won the tournament with a 2:0 success.
The match for third place was decisively won by the Czech wildcard team Jan Džavoronok and Donovan Hadrava. The Czechs defeated Daniel Allemann and Simon Leffler, who provided one of the weekend's loveliest stories. The Swiss duo had only made it to the main draw after a last-minute withdrawal and surprisingly made it to the semi-finals. With fourth place, Allemann and Leffler still impressively highlighted the potential of Swiss youth.
Beach Volleyball Festival at Lake Lucerne The tour stop in Lucerne impressed not only athletically. The Inseli by the KKL once again provided an impressive backdrop for three days of top-level sport. In glorious summer weather, the stands were excellently filled throughout the weekend. The Beach Village once again became a popular meeting point for families, sports fans, and tourists. The various partner activities, gastronomy offerings, and interactive games were very well received by visitors.
Even short rain showers could not dampen the excellent atmosphere. Spectators provided a genuine beach volleyball atmosphere throughout the weekend, transforming the center court directly by Lake Lucerne into an impressive arena.

Next Stop: Swiss Beach Volleyball Championships in Bern With the Lucerne tournament, this year's series of regular tour stops ends. The focus now shifts to the season's highlight: From August 26 to 28, 2026, the Swiss Beach Volleyball Championships will take place on the Bundesplatz in Bern. There, the best Swiss teams will compete for the national titles of the 2026 season.
