Lidl Switzerland has once again been the first retailer to reduce the prices of typical everyday products. From Tuesday, 7 October 2025, the main ingredients for a pasta dish will be available for even less.
Specifically, the retailer offers various types of pasta (spaghetti, penne rigate, fusilli, and elbow macaroni) for the new price of CHF 1.19. The accompanying tomato sauce is also cheaper. A can of chopped tomatoes (400g) now costs CHF 0.49, and a pack of sieved tomatoes (500g) is offered by the food retailer at the historic low price of CHF 0.65. This makes the sieved tomatoes available at Lidl at the lowest price since its market entry into Switzerland over 16 years ago. Even a pack of Italian grated cheese is now 16% cheaper. With these price reductions, consumers can prepare a portion of pasta with quality products for just one franc.
Lidl Switzerland's price offensive has been ongoing for around two months and is extending over more and more product groups. Nicholas Pennanen, CEO of Lidl Switzerland, comments on the new price reduction: 'The pasta dish is practically on the menu of every Swiss household. We are targeting this and are permanently reducing the prices of our customers' favourite products. Especially in times of rising living costs, we see it as our core task to specifically relieve Swiss families.'

The calculation of the portion for CHF 1.00 is based on a main meal of 120g pasta, 150g chopped tomatoes, and 5g grated cheese.
