Beginning with the winter timetable 2025/2026 coming into effect on December 14, travellers in the Surselva will benefit from noticeable improvements in public transport. The entire holiday region Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis will thus be better connected and accessible.

Shortened travel times between Disentis and Andermatt

The commissioning of the new Tscheppa crossing point near Bugnei of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGBahn) enables a more efficient timetable design and ensures greater punctuality and stability in rail traffic. Thanks to optimised departure and arrival times, travel times on the route between Disentis and Andermatt will be shortened by several minutes. The connections in Disentis are now optimally adjusted to the timetable of the Rhätische Bahn - with transfer times of 5-6 minutes in both directions.

Half-hourly service between Ilanz and Dieni

Additionally, the post buses on the Ilanz–Disentis/Mustér line will now run hourly every day. Combined with the train connections, this results in a continuous half-hourly service between Ilanz and Dieni from 7 am to 8 pm. Three new stops in the municipality of Tujetsch improve the accessibility of residential areas and will also be served during off-peak times. Moreover, the early post bus connection from Ilanz to Disentis during the summer will now be routed in such a way that the connecting train towards Andermatt can be reliably reached.

Sports trains in the high season

The popular sports trains between Dieni and Sedrun will also remain available in the future and are ideally coordinated with the regional transport. The sports trains transport winter sports enthusiasts from Sedrun and Rueras to the Dieni ski area and at the same time close the connection gap between the access points to the ski areas Oberalp and Sedrun. With 13 connections daily and 300 additional seats per hour, the demand peaks in the high season can be met.
