This year, people wanted to settle comfortably on the campsite as early as the beginning of March. But now the time has come: On Thursday, April 2, the majority of TCS campsites open just in time for Easter. The mild temperatures resulted in early bookings. The booking rate at TCS Camping is 14 percent higher at the end of March than the previous year.
Major New and Renovation Projects
For TCS Camping, there are three major new and renovation projects planned for 2026. Since last autumn, the La Tène campsite on Lake Neuchâtel has been completely renovated. The entire mainland part, 'Continent', has been prepared for rental this season. The opening is planned for Ascension Day. In autumn, the second part of the renovation will be undertaken. Additionally, a holiday village with 16 bungalows and 17 tent lodges will be created, allowing guests without their own camping equipment to enjoy the unique location of the campsite with direct lake access.
With the creation of a modern and contemporary campsite, the destination Flims in the canton of Graubünden will gain in attractiveness. The construction start for the camping project is scheduled for autumn 2026. In the first phase, the east side of the campsite, intended for caravans and tents, will be comprehensively renovated. In addition to renewing the camping infrastructure, 20 'Alpine Lodges' will be built on the west side in autumn 2027, which can also be booked in winter.
In the tourist-popular Verzasca Valley, a new campsite with pitches and locally produced accommodations is planned in collaboration with the canton of Ticino, the Patriziato di Brione, and the Fondazione Verzasca, a flagship project for the valley in connection with the strategic repositioning of its tourist accommodation offering. Construction start is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, with the opening scheduled for the 2027 season. Major renovations are also underway in Samedan and Martigny.
Room for All and All Camping Forms
The high popularity of camping in the past five to six years has led to a change in the camping world. The demand for different forms of accommodation has grown. TCS is committed to a fair mix so that all guests can enjoy a camping stay: In addition to seasonal sites, there are tourist pitches, rental accommodations, and tenting opportunities. More value creation is generated in the region, jobs are created, and tourism in Switzerland as a whole is promoted. TCS Camping recorded over 942,000 tourist overnight stays in 2025, making it the third-best result.
Website Relaunch of TCS Camping
Just in time for the season start, the TCS Camping website is presented in a new look. Since 2024, TCS Camping has appeared in its CI/CD with green hues, reflecting its connection with nature. With a new visual world, travellers immerse themselves directly in camping life. In addition, the website navigation has been simplified and works more intuitively. The availability query is clearer and particularly in the background, the interface to the booking system 'Campingcare' has been improved. The relaunch was accompanied by Amazee.io.
