The Swiss Museum of Transport vividly, interestingly, and diversely showcases the development of transport and mobility - past, present, and future - on the road, by rail and water, but also in the air and space, as well as the functioning of communication. These form the core themes of the Museum at the Swiss Museum of Transport. More than 3,000 objects on about 20,000 m2 of exhibition space are witnesses to a truly dynamic history.
Unique attractions in Switzerland such as the Film Theatre, the digitally operated large-scale planetarium, the Swissarena, the world's first walkable aerial photograph of a country, and the Gotthard Tunnel Show, as well as the Hans Erni Art Museum and many other offerings enrich the Museum visit and make it an experience.
The Swiss Museum of Transport is the delightful and experiential place of discovery - amidst original witnesses of transport history! Opened on 1 July 1959 and currently with around 930,000 visitors a year, the Museum proudly calls itself Switzerland's most visited museum. Swiss Museum of Transport, Lucerne - open 365 days a year!
