04.05.2026, KPT concludes the 2025 financial year with a positive company result of 59 million Swiss francs. Drivers included a strong performance of capital investments and a solid insurance technical result. At the same time, the company made progress in digitalisation, customer satisfaction and financial stability. KPT strengthens its board of directors with Franziska König.

KPT strategically advanced in a challenging environment in 2025. The digital experience world for customers was comprehensively optimised with the new customer portal KPTnet, the KPT app, and the website. Customer satisfaction also reached a new peak in autumn 2025. 'This success is thanks to the approximately 770 employees who strive daily for our over 500,000 insured,' says KPT-CEO Thomas Harnischberg.

Financially Successful Year After record growth in 2022/2023, KPT is still in a phase of consolidation and stabilisation. The focus is on balancing financial stability and mid-term growth. Despite a slight decrease in 2026, the customer base in basic insurance remains significantly above the level at the start of the strategy period, with 437,000 insured.

Financially, KPT looks back on a successful year. Thanks to good performance in capital investments and a solid technical insurance result (Combined Ratio 99.8%) in KVG and VVG business, KPT shows a positive company result of 59 million Swiss francs at group level in 2025. Solvency in KVG business was further improved, with KPT standing on a solid capital base and planning to further build reserves.

Simple, Digital and Cooperative KPT aims to become the simplest health insurer with an added customer focus by 2027. 'We focus on what our customers really need: best price-performance and simple customer experiences,' explains Thomas Harnischberg. At the same time, KPT strengthens its foundation as a cooperative: 'Unlike many competitors, we belong to our insured as a cooperative.' Therefore, KPT commits to the 'Health Safety Net' for social projects and solidarity in healthcare.

According to Thomas Harnischberg, the political and regulatory environment remains challenging: 'We desire a factual and collaborative discussion on the future of our healthcare system, going beyond mere cost focus and giving more weight to quality and provision.' All actors are called upon: 'Only if service providers, pharma, health insurers, and insured pull together, can we advance.'

Franziska König New on the Board At the delegates' meeting, 53-year-old Franziska König was elected to KPT's board of directors. She holds a master's in Environmental Sciences from ETH Zurich and has been working as Head Health Services at the listed Galenica Group since 2021. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic development of the service portfolio and cooperation with health insurers. Previously, she held various leadership roles at a Swiss health insurer for nine years, including corporate development and partner and product management. Board chairman Dr. Walter Bosshard looks forward to the new board member: 'With Franziska König, a distinguished health expert joins KPT. She knows the health insurance industry and will effectively support us on our way to becoming the simplest health insurer with an added customer focus.'
