Expansion of Lidl's Commitment to Women's Football: 2025-2030
The expanded UEFA partnership in women's football includes the following tournaments: - UEFA Women's EURO 2029 - Women's European Qualifiers 2028/29 - UEFA Women's Nations League 2025, 2027 and 2029
At UEFA Women's EURO 2029, the popular Lidl Kids Team will be present again, offering children the unique opportunity to walk onto the field hand in hand with women's football stars, inspiring the next generation of athletes and fans.
Building on Exceptional Success
The foundation for this expanded partnership was laid with the remarkable tournaments of the past two years. This year, UEFA Women's EURO 2025 in Switzerland further built on this success, with Lidl present at all eight venues and stadiums. The tournament welcomed over 650,000 fans in the stadiums and reached more than 400 million viewers worldwide. As part of its brand activations, Lidl distributed over 250,000 fruit cups in the fan zones and outside the stadiums to promote a healthy lifestyle. Lidl also proudly deployed the Lidl Awareness Team. Nearly 60 Lidl employees ensured that all fans felt safe and respected while embodying the values of unity and diversity.
In the centre of Lidl's activities for UEFA Women's EURO 2025 was the commitment to inspire girls and young women. The retailer hosted an international Lidl Youth Camp in Basel, bringing together 100 girls aged 14 to 17 from 18 countries for expert coaching, nutrition workshops, and the opportunity to forge lasting friendships. Additionally, more than twelve tonnes of fresh fruits and vegetables were grown on the Lidl Fresh Field in Rapperswil-Jona and donated to those in need, underscoring Lidl's commitment to conscious nutrition and community support.
Creating Equal Passion for Sport
With this partnership, Lidl is committed to fostering equal enthusiasm and support for women's football. Through the same commitment to visibility, activation, and fan engagement as in men's sports, Lidl helps ensure that women's sports receive the passionate support they deserve.
