This year's TCS delegates' meeting took place this afternoon in a special setting. 165 delegates gathered in the National Council Chamber of the Federal Palace to look back on the TCS year 2025. On the occasion of TCS's 130th anniversary and the 100th anniversary of the host TCS Section Bern, the political centre of Switzerland provided a fitting stage.
The delegates were pleased to learn that TCS, as the largest mobility club in Switzerland, has once again experienced strong growth last year. More than 1.65 million members now rely on TCS's services. 2200 employees work daily for the members. "The growth of 34,000 members is a strong vote of confidence for TCS. We will continue to advocate for their interests and self-determined mobility," says Central President Peter Goetschi.
Great attention for the school route campaign
Commitment to the common good is part of TCS's DNA - especially for the youngest in our society. Therefore, TCS has been committed to safe school routes for decades. Last year, the topic received special attention, as TCS launched the nationwide prevention campaign for school route safety on behalf of the Swiss Traffic Safety Fund. Under the motto "look, brake, stop," drivers are sensitised to responsible driving behaviour to protect children on their way to school. The campaign runs over three years and remains an important pillar in the commitment to traffic safety.
When the wallbox fails, TCS helps
Roadside assistance was also an important showcase for TCS last year. Thanks to mild weather conditions, the number of missions slightly decreased to 368,000 (2024: 377,000). As the number of electric cars continues to increase, TCS has integrated a new service into its membership. Thanks to the wallbox assistance, TCS helps when the home charging station is not working as desired.
The travel enthusiasm of the Swiss population was noticeable in the ETI operations centre. In a total of 77,000 cases, members were helped with TCS travel protection. TCS also assists its members with legal questions. The TCS Lex4you legal advisory portal has been completely renewed and recorded a growth of 13 percent with around 48,200 accounts.
As online dangers are rising, TCS has launched the TCS Cyber Protection Policy to guard against unpleasant surprises in the digital space. "When new risks arise, we respond and support our members with the appropriate offer," emphasises General Director Jürg Wittwer.
TCS Ambulance continues to expand
TCS Ambulance continued to develop dynamically in 2025. With the acquisition of the Sense Ambulance and Rescue Service and a new base in the city of Bern, TCS Ambulance has grown again. The 400 employees carried out around 45,000 operations from 23 bases in nine cantons. As the largest private ambulance organisation in Switzerland, TCS Ambulance provides both emergency transport and patient transport. Furthermore, TCS Ambulance supports various events as part of the medical service.
Alongside road services, business in the air also developed positively. TCS Drone received an extended operating licence from the Federal Office of Civil Aviation for the use of cargo drones in densely populated areas. Thanks to the approval, the transport flights of TCS Drone can also take place in urban areas.
Third-best year for TCS Camping
For TCS Camping, 2025 was an outstanding year. 942,000 overnight stays represented the third-best value of all time, even though the Gampelen campsite was lost. The fact that TCS Campings offer an option for all camping needs contributes significantly to the success. It is also crucial that the campsites are consistently kept up to date.
In autumn 2025, renovation began at TCS Camping La Tène on Lake Neuchâtel, and projects are planned in Flims and the Verzasca Valley for 2026.
All these offers and services are only possible thanks to the loyalty and support of the 1.65 million members. They ensure that TCS can help quickly and easily in emergency situations. In 2026, TCS will continue to do everything possible to always stand by its members.
Clear political priorities
TCS also represents its members' interests in politics. The framework for this advocacy is provided by the Political Guidelines. These are regularly adjusted, and today the delegates adopted the Political Guidelines for the period from 2026 to 2030. These continue to place strong emphasis on an efficient infrastructure but also allow important space for innovative and safe mobility. And concerning the sustainability of mobility, TCS values ensuring a balance between ecology, social acceptance and economic viability.
The members of the Board of Directors are each elected for three years. The board members Patrick Gosteli (Section Aargau), Patrick Kessler (Section Appenzell Ausserrhoden), Marcel Aebischer (Section St. Gallen-Appenzell Innerrhoden) and Fabio Stamponi (Section Ticino) were elected by the delegates for another term. Furthermore, former board members Christoph Erb (Section Bern), Thomas Lüthy (Section Zurich) and Markus Reichmuth (Section Schwyz) were appointed honorary members.
