08.04.2026, The Mobility Cooperative is organising e-car training for customers in major Swiss cities. Under the motto 'From the community for the community', Mobility members act as coaches, guide interested parties on their first drives, and help reduce uncertainties.

Mobility wants to bring customers closer to electromobility and reduce fears of contact. More than 700 e-cars are now available to nearly 300,000 users. Therefore, Switzerland's largest car-sharing provider is launching a series of training events in the eight largest Swiss cities this month. More cities and communities are expected to follow soon.

Training is conducted using Mobility cars.

The training sessions are held under the motto: From the community for the community. Volunteer members who are already experienced with e-cars accompany less experienced users for 30 minutes in a one-to-one training session. The focus is on basic knowledge such as removing the charging cable, starting the car, and the driving behaviour of electric vehicles. 'Often, it's already helpful to take a short lap in an e-car to realise that the basic handling is easier than one might think,' says Dominik Moor, project manager at Mobility. The events will initially take place at major Mobility locations with several electric vehicles. Training is conducted with models such as the VW ID.3, Renault Zoe, or Skoda Enyaq.

Events are intended to eventually function independently.

Mobility supports coaches with informational materials and ensures that the e-cars are available at the location. At the first training sessions, a person from Mobility will still be present on-site; later, these events should be able to be carried out practically independently by members of the cooperative. Mobility is confident that enough coaches can be found. Dominik Moor says: 'Initial feedback shows us that there are many users who often travel with e-cars and are happy to share their knowledge with other customers.'

For the first implementations, many coaches have already been found. The willingness to help is strong in the community. Therefore, Mobility plans to create more platforms this year to bring the cooperative base together and let them participate - whether it be with finding parking spaces, for promotional events, or supporting pilot projects.
