23.10.2025, Radically inclusive, interdisciplinary, and diversity-conscious: The CAS in Performing Arts and Inclusion at Bern University of the Arts, a department of the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH, represents a new form of learning and artistic research.

The Bern University of the Arts (HKB) and the Accademia Teatro Dimitri, in collaboration with Teatro Danzabile, are launching a new version of the CAS Performing Arts and Inclusion. This CAS is aimed at artists, professionals from the social and health sectors, and performers with and without disabilities who wish to reflect on and deepen their competences in the area of inclusion.

Around half of the lecturers of the new CAS live with a disability themselves. This significantly influences the content and teaching formats. In this way, inclusion becomes not only a topic but also a lived reality.

'From the very beginning, it was crucial for me that empowerment occurs not only among students but also among lecturers. That is, we employ performers who themselves live with a disability,' says Emanuel Rosenberg, dancer, choreographer, and co-developer of the CAS Performing Arts and Inclusion.

The new CAS brings together people with and without disabilities and teaches participatory and interdisciplinary working methods in the performing arts that can be applied in different social contexts. Participants not only strengthen their creativity but also learn to use inclusion as a source of inspiration and creative power.

The CAS comprises 12 ECTS credits and begins in January 2026. The application deadline is December 1, 2025. Further information on the content, study locations, and fees can be found on the homepage:
