New Juice API Provides Businesses Direct Access to Charging and Device Data

Companies that have their own management systems usually prefer to handle the charging management of their electric vehicle fleets internally rather than outsourcing it to external service providers. API interfaces enable direct machine access to charging stations and charging data. The new Juice API now opens up the opportunity for companies to integrate the mobile JUICE BOOSTER 3 air wallboxes directly into their systems and manage them centrally. This streamlines administrative processes, minimizes sources of error, and enhances operational security.

A milestone for professional fleet management

For Christoph Erni, CEO and founder of Juice Technology, the new API represents a significant advancement: "Our development team has implemented this technologically sophisticated solution with the utmost precision in impressively short time. Until now, user management, device management, and charging data evaluation were conducted exclusively via the j+ pilot app, available for JUICE BOOSTER 3 air both on mobile and in the browser. With the Juice API, an additional access to devices and charging histories via a client application is now possible, which can be seamlessly integrated into the company software of our fleet customers."

Easy integration through OpenAPI

The API provides all the information relevant to central charging station management. This includes device data as well as the complete charging history with authorizations, dates, energy consumed, and the resulting costs based on the stored tariff model.

Since the API is fully based on OpenAPI standards, its implementation in target systems is significantly simplified. Companies only need to develop a client application that connects to the interface, retrieves data, and processes it within their own system.

Cybersecurity at banking level

The Juice API has been designed from the ground up for the highest data security and strict compliance requirements according to zero-trust principles. Stefan Hölzl, project leader of the API development team, explains: "Our solution is based on OWASP Top 10, an internationally recognized reference for the main security risks in web applications. It ensures robust defense mechanisms against unauthorized access and manipulation, based on a consistently secure architectural design, and guarantees the integrity of all processed data. As part of our security roadmap, we continuously review and optimize these configurations."

Instead of passwords, short-lived digital keys are used, which are automatically generated and instantly cryptographically verified for each request. User-related data isolation ensures that access is strictly limited to one's own devices and charging data.

Even in data processing, the highest security is maintained: The API only accepts parameterized database queries, reliably preventing common manipulation attempts occurring in traditional web applications. Since the system operates without sessions and cookies, risks like hijacked user sessions or attacks through forged requests are also eliminated.

The technical foundation of the API is entirely cloud-based, running within a modern, automatically scalable infrastructure that allows updates during operation and processes application services separately from one another. This ensures high stability and protects sensitive charging data according to the same security principles used in the financial and healthcare sectors.

With the new API, Juice expands its fleet solution JUICE EV FLEET SOLUTION with a strategically important component. The modern and highly secure interface is aimed at companies and operators of large fleets who wish to seamlessly integrate their charging infrastructure into existing ERP or financial systems and automatically process charging data for billing purposes – without relinquishing control over their data. The API meets high requirements for compliance, data security, and efficiency, laying the foundation for professional scalable station and fleet management.

The JUICE BOOSTER 3 air offers a solution for every charging situation: Whether at home at the socket, on an existing wallbox, or on the road at public charging stations, the JUICE BOOSTER 3 air makes charging straightforward and transparent. The advantages of the JUICE EV FLEET SOLUTION are numerous:

1. One solution for all scenarios: The JUICE BOOSTER 3 air covers all charging situations, be it socket or charging station with or without cable.

2. No installation required: Employees can start charging from the first day. Operation is simple via an app, and local load management is also included.

3. Precise measurement: The JUICE BOOSTER 3 air serves not only as a charging device but primarily as an accurate electricity meter, measuring the charged kWh precisely (in MID quality).

4. Clear evaluation and billing: The backend provides a clear overview of the fleet's charging data. Charging processes are reliably recorded and included in the end-of-month billing. There is an easy-to-understand monthly charging cost invoice over all drivers as well as an additional separate charging cost overview for each employee.

5. Accurate allocation of charges: With the JUICE BOOSTER 3 air, employees can be issued charging cards, allowing for simple and reliable distinction between private and business charges.

6. Device remains company's property: No installation and therefore no dismantling is required, meaning the company incurs no costs when employees leave.

7. Economical home charging: Home charging is significantly more cost-efficient and time-saving than charging at public stations. Charging happens at night with cheap household electricity. Plus: Reimbursement service – additionally monthly reimbursement service for each driver, collective bill over all users, CSV data extracts – up to 20 users at a flat rate of EUR/CHF 200,– / EUR/CHF 10,–/user/month
