13.07.2026, As it prepares for its 150th anniversary in 2027, Kunstmuseum St.Gallen is enhancing its visual presence and has launched a new website. These actions are part of a strategic process aimed at making the museum's analog and digital offerings more accessible, contemporary, and user-oriented in the future.

The new website offers visitors a clearly structured navigation, in-depth information about exhibitions and events, and improved options for individual visit planning. In collaboration with Eye- Able, a platform for digital accessibility, the digital accessibility has also been expanded: The website can be adapted to the needs of different user groups using AI and is available in seven languages. This contributes to an inclusive and user-friendly online experience.

In parallel with the website relaunch, the museum’s visual presence has been carefully further developed. The new corporate design was created in collaboration with the St.Gallen designers Bänziger Hug Kasper Florio. The aim is to sharpen the identity of the establishment in a contemporary manner and create a consistent visual foundation for future communications—both in digital spaces and on-site.

The introduction of the enhanced appearance will take place gradually from summer 2026 across different communication channels. The content exploration of the museum's role today and in the future will be deepened in the anniversary year 2027 through a comprehensive communication campaign.

With the now implemented measures, Kunstmuseum St.Gallen creates a foundation for upcoming content initiatives and invites its audience to rediscover the institution digitally.

Kunstmuseum St.Gallen

Kunstmuseum St.Gallen enjoys international acclaim for its attractive temporary exhibitions of contemporary and modern art.

As the treasure chamber of Eastern Switzerland, the museum houses a rich collection of paintings and sculptures from the late Middle Ages to the present, displayed in a permanent exhibition. The building, erected in 1877 by Johann Christoph Kunkler in neoclassical style, invites visitors to leisurely explore art from the past and present.

Old and new in dialogue enable a diverse cultural experience, where international temporary exhibitions can be experienced or masterpieces of the past encounter outstanding representatives of contemporary art!

Thanks to comprehensive art mediation, Kunstmuseum St.Gallen is an attractive place for encounters with art of yesterday and today! The art zone in the Lokremise, the museum’s second 'venue', serves as a cultural laboratory for contemporary art.

The immediate vicinity to Kinok and the dance/theatre opens up fascinating content synergies, while the raw character of the interior allows process-oriented exhibitions and 'Artist-in-Residence' projects.
