Teaching is ensured for all students until their graduation, despite the decision not to proceed with a relaunch. "We have intensively examined all options in recent months," says Beat Imhof, President of GastroSuisse. "We deeply regret that a relaunch is not feasible. Particularly the very high building costs and rents for student accommodations cannot be financed through the school operations."
The school operations at the HFZ will continue until spring 2027. Until then, all events and occasions are secured and will take place. GastroSuisse is now exploring usage possibilities for the property at Seestrasse 141 from spring 2027 onwards. Open-ended discussions are being held with various partners on this matter.
GastroSuisse will continue to strategically invest in future-oriented educational offerings, thereby supporting professional development in the industry. "It is important that we further develop our educational landscape with a forward-looking approach to support our members," says Beat Imhof. In the project "Educational Landscape GastroSuisse", the three-tiered Gastro-Entrepreneur Training (GUA) is being completely reformed. This ensures that the association continues to offer an attractive, practical, and structured educational offering that accompanies professionals from entry-level to entrepreneurial independence. Also, at the Geneva Hotel Management School (Ecole Hôtelière de Genève, EHG) of GastroSuisse, outstanding professionals are being trained.
Together with the cantonal associations, the association remains a leading educational partner for gastronomy and hospitality in Switzerland. At the same time, GastroSuisse acts responsibly in the interest of its members, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and educational offerings are sustainably positioned.
