‘Growing sustainably’ is the title of the 2025 Annual Report. CEO Margrit Koch reflects on the successfully completed strategy period 2022+. She states: ‘We have climbed many mountains and fully achieved our strategic goals. This result is only possible because our team works together with passion, commitment, and a strong ‘Midänand’ spirit.’ Over the past three years, special emphasis has been placed on the further development of consultancy services, the modernization of all eight locations, and the strengthening of youth development - including the launch of the apprenticeship ‘Customer Dialogue Specialist EFZ’ and the recently established advisory service OKBuddy for young people.
Sustainability with impact for Obwalden
In the Sustainability Status Report, the OKB’s Head of Sustainability Sandro Widmer discusses the most significant developments: ‘We are consistently driving the promotion of sustainability – both internally and externally. However, despite the good integration of sustainability within the bank, we are far from finished with our ideas and possibilities.’ In the sustainability year 2025, the OKB focused on topics such as mobility, CO2 transparency, internal awareness, and impact-oriented projects in the region.
Looking ahead
OKB is currently working on its new strategy. The first visible indication is the launch of the precautionary brand ‘vorsorglich.’ which aims to support customers in the key moments of their lives. In the future, the bank will continue to focus on creating real added value and strengthening its strong regional ties.
