10.03.2026, The Swiss Literature Institute celebrates its anniversary: With a diverse programme at home and on tour in Switzerland, it frames its twentieth anniversary and invites interested parties to get to know it anew or revisit.

20 years of writing, 20 years of studying, 20 years of the Swiss Literature Institute: What began in 2006 as a pilot project now holds a firm place in the educational and literary landscape of Switzerland. It still offers the only bilingual bachelor's degree in Switzerland dedicated to literary writing – and has already supported over 200 graduates on their journey to becoming the authors and literary professionals they are today. This calls for celebration – but being established doesn't mean being set in one's ways, which is why the Literature Institute celebrates under the motto 'on the move', and quite literally: with various formats spread across the year, in Biel and across Switzerland. On September 19th, workshops and an evening programme featuring alumni and companions provide an opportunity to jointly reflect on current literary phenomena, look to the future and the past, reunite or meet anew, toast, and listen to texts. In autumn and spring, the travelling ateliers invite you to encounter the Literature Institute on the road – with literary interventions organised by students, including participation in the Solothurn Literature Days. Information on upcoming events for the anniversary year is available at hkb.bfh.ch/sli. Participation in all events is – in some cases with limited capacity – free of charge. We welcome all those interested who the anniversary brings to Biel or to an 'atelier on the move'! Bern University of Applied Sciences

About the Swiss Literature Institute:

As part of the HKB, the Swiss Literature Institute promotes transdisciplinary exchange with other arts.
