Together with the Theodora Foundation, Panini launches the new collection and card game 'Play for Smiles', combining the joy of collecting with strong social commitment. At the heart of the initiative are the dream doctors from the Theodora Foundation, who for over 30 years have dedicated themselves to bringing moments of joy and lightness to children in hospitals and specialized institutions.
The idea for the collaboration emerged from a simple yet touching moment: the dream doctors from the Theodora Foundation distribute stickers to children during their visits - small gestures with a big impact. This led to the vision of creating a card game. After contacting Panini, this idea became a reality within just 12 months.
More Than Football - Panini Connects Generations
Panini is widely recognized for its iconic football stickers. However, the world of Panini extends far beyond: for decades, the company has been developing creative collection concepts that captivate and connect people of all ages. With 'Play for Smiles', Panini demonstrates how collecting can not only bring joy but also contribute positively to society.
A central component of the cooperation is its social contribution: 25 percent of the sales proceeds go directly to the Theodora Foundation. Panini is responsible for the entire development, production, and distribution, and also guarantees the foundation a minimum contribution - irrespective of sales success.
Proven Principle Meets Playful Innovation
'Play for Smiles' is based on Panini's proven principle and introduces a new dimension: besides collecting, the cards can also be actively used as a game. This creates a versatile experience for children, teenagers, and adults alike.
The high-quality metal box (tin box) contains 60 cards and a game guide in German, French, Italian, and English. All collection or playing cards are also labeled in these four languages.
Additional cards are available in classic collection packs. 'Play for Smiles' is now available throughout Switzerland, among other places at K-kiosks and in the webshops of Panini and the Theodora Foundation.
