08.04.2026, The Rothenburger wholesaler Pistor grew by 3.7% in the 2025 financial year. The main driver was the supply of the gastronomy sector, which is Pistor's most lucrative business segment. The bakery and confectionery segment remained stable. Ultimately, a profit of 26.2 million Swiss Francs was achieved, which will be used to expand the logistical and digital infrastructure.

The supplier to the bakery, gastronomy, and healthcare markets, Pistor, was able to satisfactorily conclude its last fiscal year: with a turnover of 857.8 million Swiss Francs, this represents a 3.7% increase compared to the previous year. While business with bakeries and confectioneries improved by 1.3%, Pistor generated 5.8% more income from supplying gastronomic establishments. This means gastronomy accounts for 54% of the total turnover.

Pistor CEO Patrick Lobsiger is pleased with the outcome: 'We have achieved our growth targets and have been able to develop financially stable. By focusing on various business fields, we create a broadly supported basis for the future.' One of these business fields is the B2B online marketplace Mercanto, which is gaining significant momentum. Thus, 77,000 items from various food and non-food providers are now on offer - an increase of 47,000 compared to the previous year. 'Pistor's success is based on a highly efficient supply chain, our reliability, and digital innovation,' Lobsiger states. 'We are making steady progress in all areas, so we are looking confidently into the future.'

Investments in infrastructure have impacted profits. Pistor has been investing in its logistical and digital infrastructure for several years. In 2025, the wholesaler opened a new distribution center in Sennwald, from which it can supply customers in Eastern Switzerland more efficiently, faster, and more sustainably. Furthermore, at the headquarters in Rothenburg, the small parts warehouse has been modernized, the roofs have been widely equipped with solar panels, seven new electric trucks have been added to the fleet, and several software projects were implemented. These associated costs impacted profits, which were marginally below the previous year at 26.2 million Swiss Francs (compared to 26.8 million Swiss Francs in the prior year). 'Thanks to our cooperative structure, we can think and act for the long term as a company,' emphasizes Patrick Lobsiger. 'We reinvest our profits into expanding our customer benefits, which is exactly what makes Pistor successful in the long term.'
