Morelos’ practice is radically focused on material, space, and presence. Emerging from a worldview of the Andean region— and in dialogue with Minimal Art and Conceptual Art—she develops a distinct language between drawing, painting, sculpture, and installation. Natural materials act as carriers of time, process, and transience.
At the centre of the exhibition unfolds an expansive field of earth mounds and painted wooden slats: stacked, layered, loosely heaped—like farmland, topography, or archaeological traces. Walls and columns are covered with layers of earth; narrow paths lead through a dense atmosphere where connection to nature, indigenous spirituality, and colonial heritage converge. In this way, our alienated relationship with nature becomes sensually tangible—quiet, focused, and ultimately political.
The Kunstmuseum St.Gallen is pleased to offer free admission throughout the exhibition period once again. This is made possible by the generous sponsorship of SENN Resources AG.
The vernissage of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 13:00 in the presence of the artist. After the official opening speeches, an art conversation will follow, offering insights into her work and artistic practice.

The Kunstmuseum St. Gallen is renowned for its attractive temporary exhibitions of contemporary and modern art, with an international appeal.
As the treasure chamber of Eastern Switzerland, the museum houses a rich collection of paintings and sculptures from the late Middle Ages to the present, showcased in a permanent exhibition. The building, constructed in 1877 by Johann Christoph Kunkler in neoclassical style, invites visitors to wander through art from the past and present.
The dialogue between old and new allows for a varied cultural experience, where international temporary exhibitions can be experienced or masterpieces of the past meet outstanding representatives of contemporary art!
Thanks to extensive art education, the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen is an attractive place for encounters with art from yesterday and today! The art zone in the Lokremise, the museum's second 'venue,' serves as a cultural laboratory for contemporary art.
The close proximity to KinoK and dance/theatre opens up fascinating content synergies, and the raw character of the interior enables process-oriented exhibitions and 'Artist-in-Residence' projects.
