For the annual Red Cross campaign 2 x Christmas, the public donated products over the Christmas period for people living in very tight financial circumstances. This year, 50 tonnes of goods are being sorted for the first time by the Zurich Red Cross in a warehouse at the WEBSTAR company in Dielsdorf. SRK ambassador Naomi Lareine will actively participate in the sorting. Along with 32 volunteers, the goods are prepared for collection by 78 social organizations and agencies, which later distribute the items on a needs-oriented basis to around 20,000 people in their communities. The rising prices further exacerbate the situation for people affected by poverty, making the donations very welcome and easing everyday life. 2 x Christmas has been supporting people in precarious situations since 1997 and is a joint campaign by the SRK, La Poste, SRG, and Coop.
Media Invitation
The donated goods will be sorted and commissioned from Thursday, 19 March, in the warehouse in Dielsdorf. The premises are provided free of charge to the Red Cross by the company WEBSTAR. The media are cordially invited to visit the distribution campaign on that day between 10 am and 12 pm. On-site will be volunteers, SRK ambassador Naomi Lareine, the chairperson of the executive board Manuela Frenjo, and the project managers from SRK Canton Zurich. They will be happy to provide information and interviews.
