Instead of chopsticks, the new method is: push, pull out, eat. The viral food trend 'Sushi Pop' is encased in a cardboard tube and can be enjoyed directly from the packaging thanks to a push mechanism. Finger food sushi that can be eaten on the go. Quick, easy, different.
Migros is the first Swiss supermarket to test the viral food trend over six weeks in selected branches in German-speaking and Western Switzerland.
Within a short time sold out Behind the product is Tasted Food AG. The Zurich-based company has been producing sushi for the Swiss market for years and operates its own restaurants in Zurich that have already tried the trendy push-out sushi. With great success: demand was high, and the sushi was sold out in no time.
In the refrigerated aisle, the novelty is immediately noticeable: sushi from the tube instead of the tray. Eight pieces with salmon, avocado, and rice, ready to be pushed out for CHF 13.90.
The test runs for six weeks in around 80 Migros branches in the cooperatives Aare, Basel, Lucerne, Zurich (all from June 11) and Geneva (from June 18). It will then be decided whether the tube snack will become a permanent fixture in the nationwide range.
