11.03.2026, The Board of Directors of SRG elected Roger Elsener as the new Director of Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) at its meeting on 10 March 2026. They unanimously followed the proposal of the Regional Board of SRG German-speaking Switzerland. Additionally, the Board unanimously elected Nicolas Pernet as Director of Offering and Moritz Stadler as Director of Operations upon the recommendation of Director General Susanne Wille. All three individuals will join the new Executive Board of SRG.

SRG is continuing its transformation. It is decisively advancing its change with the transformation project 'Enavant SRG SSR', launched at the end of 2024, towards becoming a more digital, leaner, and more agile media company. In the future, SRG will collaborate more across regions, pool its strengths, leverage internal synergies, while remaining regionally anchored.

In line with this, the Executive Board of SRG is undergoing further change. Following the election of HR Director Severine Schori-Vogt and Stephanie Jutzi, Head of Communication and Public Affairs, the Executive Board is now being further developed with three additional complementary profiles: Nicolas Pernet for the Directorate of Offering, Moritz Stadler for the Directorate of Operations, and Roger Elsener for the Directorate of SRF.

The three leaders bring digital innovation, operational excellence, and a profound understanding of public service and audience needs. These competencies are central to the future SRG. The Executive Board will harness its strengths company-wide even more effectively, while maintaining proximity to the audience in all language regions thanks to the diversity of its members.

Roger Elsener will be the Director of SRF

As the new Director of SRF, Roger Elsener will further develop the strong program both content-wise and qualitatively, advance digitalisation in line with the changing consumption habits of the audience, and focus on the younger audience. He follows Nathalie Wappler, who has announced her resignation.

Currently, the 47-year-old from Central Switzerland is the CEO of Zattoo, the leading Swiss internet TV streaming provider. He impressed the members of the nominations committee, led by Lukas Bruhin, President of SRG German-speaking Switzerland, which also includes Susanne Wille as SRG's Director General. Roger Elsener has years of experience in the radio, TV, and streaming business and possesses a profound understanding of the Swiss media market. Previously, Elsener was Managing Director of CH Media Entertainment and a member of the management of the radio and TV group of CH Media since 2018. He also served as CEO of CH Media TV AG, the joint venture of CH Media and Sunrise for their TV group and the streaming service oneplus. Before his tenure at CH Media, Roger Elsener held leadership positions in various media companies, including AZ Medien AG, the 3+ Group, and Viacom International Media Networks (MTV, Viva, Nickelodeon).

Roger Elsener graduated from the University of Zurich with a Master's degree in Journalism in 2003. He is married, a father, and currently resides again in his birthplace, Menzingen ZG.

Lukas Bruhin, President of SRG German-speaking Switzerland: 'The Regional Board of SRG German-speaking Switzerland is pleased that Roger Elsener was elected by the Board of Directors of SRG. Roger Elsener possesses all the prerequisites to further develop SRF during a challenging phase in the service of public service in German-speaking Switzerland. We are also convinced by his down-to-earth nature, clarity, and openness on a human level.'

Susanne Wille, SRG's Director General: 'Roger Elsener is an experienced media manager and digital expert who will consistently continue the digital transformation of SRF. He combines strategic media expertise, innovation capability, and a deep understanding of Swiss and international journalism and media markets. This makes him perfectly suited to advance SRF as a leading medium in a rapidly changing environment and to further develop it into a modern, digital medium with relevant programming in German-speaking Switzerland.'

SRF Director Nathalie Wappler will leave SRF at the end of April. Roger Elsener will seamlessly take on his new role on 1 May 2026.

Nicolas Pernet will be the Director of Offering

Nicolas Pernet has been leading Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha (RTR) since 2021 and is the Deputy Director General of SRG since 2025. He is also the co-leader of the transformation project 'Enavant'. Born in Engadin, the 46-year-old media manager studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen and completed his doctorate in 2010 following study stays at the University of Michigan and HEC Paris. Before moving to SRG, he spent around ten years at the media company Ringier, where he was, among other roles, responsible for the then Blick Group as Head of Marketing and Head of Publishing & News Business. Most recently, he was responsible for commercial revenues as Head of Commercial Management. Nicolas Pernet is 46 years old, married, a father, and lives in Egg near Zurich and Chur.

The new Offering sector will lead, among other things, the live and streaming platform Play+, as well as the offering units of Fiction and Sport, which will in the future be led by SRG-wide units. This ensures that SRG's offering meets the audience's needs even better in the future and is technologically leading. Thanks to regionally organized teams, proximity to viewers is ensured. Pernet brings with him the dual competence of public service and audience- oriented product and offering control - central to an effective offering strategy of SRG in all language regions, which will be aligned uniformly and thus implemented even faster and more effectively in the future.

Susanne Wille: 'Nicolas Pernet has years of experience at the interface between media content and distribution. He brings ideal prerequisites to purposefully further develop SRG's offering strategy. At the centre are the expectations and needs of the audience, the media market and its future developments, and the technologies that drive it.'

Nicolas Pernet will take on his new role on 1 April 2026. The position of Director at RTR will be externally advertised. In the meantime, an interim management team will take over the leadership of RTR.

Moritz Stadler will be the Director of Operations

The new Operations sector unites production and technology and establishes uniform framework conditions for all production and technological activities. The future- integrated infrastructure for all language regions and intensified nationwide collaboration is an important leverage of the transformation project 'Enavant'.

Moritz Stadler has been leading the stream Operations at 'Enavant' since mid-2025. In 2024, he was elected Co-Executive Producer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. Until mid-2025, he was Head of Operations and a member of the Executive Board of RTS, where he developed technology and production further and aligned them consistently with the strategic objectives of the organization. Before his time at SRG and EBU, Moritz Stadler worked in various positions in the media and event industry, including Deputy Production Manager at Europe 1 in Paris and assignments for UEFA and FIFA in various world regions. He completed training as a radio technician and also holds a degree in Management from the University of Caen. Moritz Stadler (40) is married, a father, and resides in Neuchâtel.

Susanne Wille: 'With Moritz Stadler, we have been able to secure a leader who will drive SRG and public service in the fields of production and technology with full force. He brings international implementation experience and high operational excellence - critical for the efficiency, quality, and security of our structures and processes.'

Moritz Stadler will take on his new role on 1 April 2026.

Setting the course for a strong SRG in challenging times

With the appointments of Roger Elsener, Nicolas Pernet, and Moritz Stadler, SRG ensures that key areas of the company are entrusted to proven experts and leaders - at a time when digital transformation, financial challenges, and journalistic responsibility are particularly intertwined. The decisions reflect the organizational restructuring and the focus on impact and efficiency within 'Enavant'.

Jean- Michel Cina, Chairman of the SRG Board of Directors: 'The Board of Directors is pleased that we have been able to secure these three experienced leaders for these important roles. We are convinced they will make a significant contribution to the transformation of SRG while ensuring that SRG continues to fulfill its public service mandate with the highest quality in the future.'

Susanne Wille, SRG's Director General: 'We are consistently aligning SRG and its diverse programming with the needs of the audience, while strengthening efficiency and collaboration between all regions in Switzerland. With these appointments, we take an important step towards a more digital, leaner, and agile SRG.'
