12.12.2025, The 'Sports Awards' 2025 focus on the most successful Swiss sports personalities of the year. Following the nominees in the 'MVP' category, the nominees in the categories 'Team', 'Paralympic Athlete', and 'Coach' have also been announced. Furthermore, the musical accompaniment for the live broadcast on 4 January 2026 has been revealed - the TV audience can look forward to first-class performances.


On Sunday, 4 January 2026, the most successful Swiss sports personalities of the past year will be honoured at the 'Sports Awards'. The online voting for the 'MVP' is still open until 16 December at sports-awards.ch. Now the nominees in the categories 'Team', 'Paralympic Athlete', and 'Coach' have also been announced. Based on the preselection by the electoral committee, various bodies were allowed to cast their votes.

The Nominees in the 'Team' Category

In the 'Team' category, top athletes from Swiss Olympic, Swiss sports media, and Sportpress.ch participated in the voting. The nominees are:

- Franjo von Allmen/Loïc Meillard, Alpine Skiing; World Championship Gold Team Combination - Women's National Team, Football; European Championship Quarterfinals - Men's National Team, Ice Hockey; World Championship Silver

Paralympic Top Trio Nominated

In the 'Paralympic Athlete' category, Swiss top athletes from Swiss Olympic, Swiss Paralympic athletes, and Swiss sports media and Sportpress.ch were eligible to vote. The nominees are:

- Catherine Debrunner, Para-Athletics; World Champion 100, 400, 800, 1500, and 5000 meters, Marathon Wins Tokyo (Course Record) and London - Marcel Hug, Para-Athletics; World Champion 5000 meters, Marathon Wins Boston, London, Sydney (Course Record), Berlin, and Chicago - Flurina Rigling, Para-Cycling; 2x World Championship Gold (Time Trial and Road Race), 3x World Championship Gold (Scratch Sprint, Elimination Race), World Championship Silver (Track Time Trial)

The Nominees for the Coach of the Year Title

Top athletes from Swiss Olympic, trainers organized in the Swiss Coach Association, competitive sports representatives of sports associations, and Swiss sports media and Sportpress.ch were entitled to vote in the 'Coach' category. The nominees are:

- Florian Clivaz, Athletics; World Championship Gold 100 meters hurdles, European Championship Gold and World Championship Silver 60 meters hurdles (indoor) as coach of Ditaji Kambundji, World Championship Gold 60 meters (indoor) as coach of Mujinga Kambundji - Patrick Fischer, Ice Hockey; World Championship Silver as coach of the Swiss Men's National Team - Pia Sundhage, Football; European Championship Quarterfinals as coach of the Swiss Women's National Team

Zurich Film Orchestra, Anna Rossinelli and Kings Elliot Provide Musical Framework

Forty musicians of the Zurich Film Orchestra will accompany the opening of the 'Sports Awards' under the direction of conductor Pascal Tsering with well-known film soundtracks. Anna Rossinelli with 'If You Don't Know' and Kings Elliot with 'The Promise' will provide further musical accompaniment for the live broadcast.
