'Die Anderen. Les Autres, Gli Altri. Ils Auters - The Tour of Switzerland' attempts to answer the fundamental question: What separates us and what unites us in Switzerland? With authentic stories and discussions, SRG invites the radio audience to discover the richness of multilingual and culturally diverse Switzerland - across four stages and in four languages.
Live broadcasts throughout the day on SRF, RTS, RSI, and RTR's first radio channels will immerse listeners in a language region and its daily theme. Additionally, reporters from their home regions will bring appropriate contributions, creating a multi-layered, national picture. The crowning finale is a quadri-lingual evening broadcast from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., aired on all four programs, making the cultural and linguistic diversity of Switzerland audible and tangible.
'Le tour de Suisse' is structured over four special days, each dedicated to a language region and a daily theme: - 25 March 2026 - Ticino: 'On the Border' with Italy, between culture, economy, and the daily life of cross-border commuters. - 27 May 2026 - Rumantschia: 'On Bridges': Transitions connecting alpine communities. - 18 September 2026 - Romandie: 'By the Water': Along historic waterways and scientific challenges. How climate change affects water and our lives by the water. - 18 November 2026 - German-speaking Switzerland: 'In the Agglomeration': The conurbation as a place of encounter and exchange between city and countryside.
'The Tour of Switzerland' starts on 25 March in Ticino.
On the first special day, 25 March, Ticino and its geographical and cultural proximity to Italy will be in focus. Throughout the day, content will be available on the first SRG radio stations of the four language regions. Additionally, Radio SRF 1, Rete Uno, RTS Première (from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.), and RTR (from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) will each broadcast live for one hour from the border in Brusata (CH) / Bizzarone (IT).
The audience will learn about life and everyday life at customs, be able to observe customs officials at work, and hear from residents about cultural borders. Moreover, the everyday work of 'Frontalieri' and cross-border commuters will be highlighted. In the evening, the four reporters from the language regions will convene at the RSI studio in Comano to recap the day's highlights in a national and quadri-lingual radio broadcast. This program will be aired live from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. on all four channels - a first for SRG.
