Trying out surgical robots or an endoscope, informing oneself about digestion in a walk-through intestinal model, or visiting the teddy bear clinic: the KSW hospital festival offered young and old the opportunity to experience medicine up close and learn more about the comprehensive offerings of a modern central hospital. Around 10,000 people visited the diverse tour on the KSW campus. "The many interested visitors today have shown that KSW is much more than a hospital. It is a place of trust, innovation, and encounter," says Guido Speck, CEO of KSW. "This connection with the people in our region is the best confirmation for us in our anniversary year."
Employees contribute to success The festival took place during regular hospital operations. While some of the KSW staff cared for patients and treated emergencies in the hospital, numerous colleagues were on duty around the campus at the hospital festival. They helped with setup, staffed information booths, assisted with drink distribution, at the barbecue, or showed visitors the way. This was made possible through careful planning in all areas.
Positive Conclusion from the OK The hospital festival marked the highlight of KSW's anniversary year. Benjamin Hager, project leader of the various anniversary activities, draws a positive conclusion: "The atmosphere was excellent throughout the day and we experienced many wonderful encounters." This was largely due to the many helpers, Benjamin Hager continues: "That everything went so smoothly is mainly thanks to the great commitment of the many employees, retirees, volunteers, and partners. Everyone pitched in vigorously."
