The Swiss AI Assistant by Swisscom supports employees in their daily work by making information from company-owned documents quickly findable and usable – for instance, to answer questions, summarize content, or assist in text creation. The AI-Chatbot is suitable for organizations of varying sizes and industries, including SMEs, public administrations, and notably also companies from regulated sectors such as finance or healthcare.
AI with clear data sovereignty in Switzerland Many companies face the task of responsibly introducing AI. Missing suitable tools often lead employees to resort to external AI services, bringing data protection risks and lack of control. The Swiss AI Assistant addresses this exact issue: It is consistently oriented towards data protection and compliance. All data is fully stored and processed in the Swiss data centers of Swisscom. This aids companies in meeting requirements for data protection, compliance, and digital sovereignty, and helps them rapidly benefit from AI advantages in the enterprise. Urs Lehner, Head of Swisscom Business Customers, states, "Digital sovereignty is a central concern for many companies and public institutions. The Swiss AI Assistant is consistently operated in Switzerland, giving companies full control over their data – a crucial difference from freely available AI services."
The Swiss AI Assistant uses several open-source language models in their unaltered form. No corporate data is used for training or improving foundational models. In the future, additional models will be available for selection, including the large, open Swiss LLM Apertus.
AI entry without IT hurdles The implementation and use of the Swiss AI Assistant is intentionally designed to be straightforward. Companies can introduce the assistant without extensive IT projects, upload documents, and configure the chatbot in a few steps. The usage is self-service and requires no technical prior knowledge. Depending on needs, functions for user and access management are available, making it suitable for both smaller businesses and larger organizations.
Companies benefit from a clear pricing model at a flat rate, for instance with the Essential Edition for up to 10 employees at 149 francs per month. A free trial version with full functionality allows testing the chatbot in the company environment without obligation.
Part of the Swisscom AI Strategy The Swiss AI Assistant is based on the Swiss AI Platform by Swisscom and is thus embedded in a long-term AI strategy. The Swiss AI Platform offers modular AI services – from GPU resources and model APIs to the AI Work Hub to the newest service, the GenAI Studio, as a low-code/no-code environment for generative AI solutions. Swisscom is specifically advancing its AI offerings to provide companies and public institutions with a secure, Switzerland-operated access to artificial intelligence. Increasing use by the economy and public sector highlights the demand for sovereign, data protection-compliant AI solutions for Switzerland.
