27.05.2026, SWISS expands its winter flight schedule for 2026/27, adding Bengaluru to its network for the first time as a destination in southern India. In total, SWISS offers its passengers 88 destinations worldwide from Zurich and Geneva this winter. At the same time, SWISS will bring the new long-haul experience SWISS Senses with the Airbus A350 to Johannesburg and Shanghai in winter, allowing even more guests to enjoy the new cabin and the modernised in-flight experience.

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is expanding its long-haul network in the upcoming winter flight schedule and will include Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore), alongside Mumbai and Delhi, making it the third destination in India. The airline will serve Bengaluru five times a week in the future.

Bengaluru: A new addition to the SWISS network

For the first time in its company history, SWISS will serve the fourth-largest city in India. Bengaluru is considered one of Asia's most significant technology and innovation centers. In addition to international technology corporations, numerous European companies have also settled in the southern Indian metropolis, which has developed into a significant high-tech and innovation hub in recent years.

Jens Fehlinger, CEO of SWISS, says: 'We are very pleased to offer our passengers an attractive and versatile new destination with Bengaluru. Often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India, it's an ideal destination for both leisure and business travelers and serves as a perfect starting point for journeys to southern India. With this new route, we are particularly responding to the growing demand of business travelers for direct flights to this important tech metropolis.'

Flights from Zurich operate with flight number LX140 every day except Mondays and Wednesdays. The flight time from Zurich to Bengaluru is approximately 9 hours. SWISS departs Zurich at 13:20 and lands in Bengaluru at 02:55 the following day. Return flights with flight number LX141 operate every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays. Departure from Bengaluru is at 04:50 with arrival in Zurich at 10:50.

Experience Johannesburg and Shanghai with the A350

By the coming winter, SWISS will further expand its Airbus A350 fleet. The airline expects to have a total of five Airbus A350s in its long-haul fleet by the end of the year. This will allow even more travelers to experience the new long-haul experience SWISS Senses.

After Boston and Seoul, the Airbus A350 will be used on the route to Johannesburg in the winter schedule. As of September, the state-of-the-art aircraft will also regularly fly to Shanghai. Guests benefit from the new cabin, more comfort, and a modernized travel experience across all classes.

Further adjustments in the network

From Geneva, the offering will include 15 short-haul destinations in addition to the long-haul destination New York. Berlin, Hamburg, and Pristina will not be served from Geneva in the winter schedule. This is due to the ongoing global shortage of aircraft and engine spare parts for the Airbus A220 fleet. SWISS is adjusting its offering from Geneva to further strengthen operational stability and planning reliability. There are 60 European and 24 intercontinental destinations to choose from from Zurich.

The winter flight schedule for 2026/27 is valid from October 25, 2026, to March 27, 2027. In total, SWISS offers its passengers 88 destinations worldwide from Zurich and Geneva in the upcoming winter season.
