Hardly any symbol is as closely associated with Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) as the small Schöggeli from Frey. For many guests, it is the sweet highlight of every flight with Switzerland's leading airline. Until now, it was only exclusively available on board. In collaboration with Migros, SWISS is bringing the iconic Schöggeli to the ground for the first time from 30th September 2025, for three weeks. And this time, in bar form. Anyone who misses the Schöggeli, wants to gift it, or isn't flying with SWISS in the near future, now has the opportunity to purchase this little treat outside of the aircraft at Migros.
Stefan Vasic, Head of Marketing at SWISS, says: "The SWISS Schöggeli has been a symbol of Swiss hospitality for years. We distribute it over 50,000 times a day on our flights, bringing joy worldwide. Many guests have asked us if the Schöggeli can also be purchased. For the 100th birthday of Migros, we have fulfilled this wish together with our strong partner. We are very pleased to share the SWISS Schöggeli with the whole of Switzerland for a limited time."
"Since 2015, Migros and SWISS have enjoyed a sweet partnership: As the largest chocolate producer in Switzerland, we manufacture about 20 million fine SWISS Schöggeli from Frey each year – adhering to the high standards of the Rainforest Alliance for socially and ecologically responsible cocoa farming. Both SWISS and Migros are brands with many fans, making a collaboration between us particularly obvious," says Rémy Müller, Head of Marketing & Communication at Migros Supermarket AG.
Enjoyment with a Chance to Win
Along with the sweet piece of chocolate, there is now a chance for the next flight: Inside each bar packaging is a QR code. Simply scan, register, and with some luck, win one of 500 flight vouchers worth 200 Swiss Francs, or even one of the 20 grand prizes worth 1,000 Swiss Francs each. The SWISS chocolate from Frey in large format is available for three weeks at a price of 2.95 Swiss Francs in approximately 450 Migros stores nationwide.
The Migros Group, with an annual turnover of 32.5 billion Swiss Francs (2024), is the largest retail company in Switzerland and with 98,776 employees (2024), the largest private employer. Owners of Migros are over two million cooperative members, organized into ten regional cooperatives, which operate the core business of the Migros Group, retail trade. The group also includes Migros-owned industries and various trading companies, as well as Migros Bank.
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is Switzerland’s leading airline. It connects Switzerland to Europe and the world with direct connections from Zurich and Geneva airports. The premium airline uses one of Europe's most modern fleets for this. Its freight division, Swiss WorldCargo, offers an extensive airport-to-airport services offering for high-value, time-critical, and care-intensive cargo. SWISS stands for the traditional values of Switzerland and is committed to the highest product and service quality. It has also set ambitious CO2 goals, planning to reduce its net CO2 emissions by 50% compared to 2019 by 2030, and achieving a CO2-neutral balance by 2050. One of its priorities is promoting the use of sustainable fuels. SWISS is part of the Lufthansa Group and a member of the Star Alliance, the world’s largest airline network.
Migros is one of the largest retailers in Switzerland. Consumers can find products for daily use in the numerous sales outlets.
The Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund (MGB) headquartered in Zurich undertakes various tasks within Migros.
The MGB, together with the ten Migros cooperatives, the in-house industry, the service companies, and the other related or affiliated companies, organizations, and foundations, forms the Migros Group.
The main bodies of the MGB are the Delegates Assembly, the Administration (Board of Directors), and the General Management.
