23.09.2025, Five Days of Passion, Talent, and Emotions: SwissSkills 2025 Moved Switzerland!

Emotions, Experiences, and Achievements

SwissSkills 2025 left a lasting impression! Over five days, 1,021 young professionals transformed BERNEXPO into an arena full of passion, precision, and pride. In 92 competitions, they showcased their talents, assessed by over 800 experts. The atmosphere peaked on Saturday night at the PostFinance Arena: In front of 6,000 spectators, Switzerland's top professionals were celebrated, medals awarded, tears shed, and winners cheered. This moment vividly demonstrated the power, fascination, and social significance of vocational education in Switzerland.

120,000 People Embarked

Not only the competitions but also the experience format of SwissSkills 2025 captivated the audience. The more than 150 'Try a Skill' zones turned the area into an experiential landscape. Young people tried out professions they had only heard of: they welded, programmed, built walls, or styled hair. From Wednesday to Friday, schools dominated: over 2,100 classes traveled from all language regions to Bern, transforming BERNEXPO into Switzerland's largest classroom. On the weekend, families took center stage. Thus, SwissSkills 2025 not only conveyed knowledge but also ignited fascination—impressions that will ideally shape the career choice process for many youths.

Intergenerational Encounters

SwissSkills 2025 was much more than competitions and experience zones: it became a meeting point and exchange zone for learners, teachers, employers, visitors, and decision-makers from education, politics, and business. On the BERNEXPO site, generations met: young people who are still choosing their careers, teachers who accompany them, experts sharing their knowledge, and companies discovering their future skilled workers. This interaction made SwissSkills 2025 a platform for exchange, building bridges, and making the importance of vocational education visible across society.

Voices on Success

Daniel Arn, president of the SwissSkills Bern association, provides a clear verdict: 'SwissSkills 2025 was a true public festival of vocational education. The excitement on the site, the emotions in the halls, and the proud faces of our participants impressively demonstrated the strength of dual vocational education.' Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin emphasized in his speech at the award ceremony: 'Bravo, you have achieved great things. Passion, skill, professional pride—these are what have moved us in recent days. And I say it with conviction: your skills are a promise for the future!'
