Organisation during the Construction Period
With the building permit granted, the formal framework for the construction and renovation project of the Restaurant Stucki in Basel is set. The restaurant will continue running for now: Until the end of June, the restaurant will be open for regular service, from the beginning of July to the end of September exclusively in the evenings, except on Saturdays when the restaurant will be open both for lunch and dinner.
Following this, comprehensive renovation will commence, during which operations on Bruderholz will be completely halted. Reopening is planned for November 2027.
Prospects for Employees during the Closure Phase
During the construction-related closure period, new projects will be advanced. Individual conversations are currently being held with the approximately 50 employees. The goal is to address personal circumstances, concerns, and questions related to the construction project and the closure of operations on Bruderholz.
"We are currently developing concepts to continue providing professional perspectives for our employees during and after the closure phase. Among other initiatives, we are examining the further development of our location in downtown Basel, including the continuation of the shop as well as a gastronomic offering. We are aware of our social responsibility and are in close, personal, and continuous dialogue with our staff," says Tanja Grandits.
Specific projects will be announced as soon as the concepts are available.
Restaurant Schlüssel Remains Open
Tanja Grandits' second restaurant, Restaurant Schlüssel in Oberwil BL, is not affected by the construction work and will remain open as usual.
Note on the Construction Project
The construction project includes a production site for in-house products, a training kitchen, employee lounges, and additional storage facilities. Additionally, existing building parts will be renovated, and the infrastructure will be adapted.
